New Regency has decided to delay the theatrical release of ‘The Bikeriders’, starring Tom Hardy and Austin Butler. The Jeff Nichols directional has been delayed due to the ongoing actors’ strike. Talents who are a part of SAG-AFTRA cannot take part in any film publicity or promotion activity.
Apart from Hardy and Butler, the film has Jodie Comer, Michael Shannon, Norman Reedus, and Mike Faist.
The Bikeriders was supposed to arrive in theatres globally on December 1. Now, it has been delayed indefinitely due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. The film premiered at this year’s Telluride Film Festival and garnered strong reviews from critics. It has a ‘fresh’ rating of 88% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 25 reviews.
Given the film’s highly positive critical response, New Regency wants it to be a part of this year’s awards race. If not in December this year, then the studio may release the film in early 2024. This scenario depends upon the culmination of the ongoing actors’ strike.
Adapted from Danny Lyon’s novel, The Bikeriders revolves around a motorcycle club in Chicago in the 1960s. Stay tuned for more updates.
