After the box office successes of Tom Hardy’s superhero movie ‘Venom’ and its sequel ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’, Sony and Marvel are now gearing up for the third ‘Venom’ movie. A few weeks after the 118-day actors’ strike reached a tentative deal, Hollywood actor Tom Hardy has now officially announced that the production schedule for the third instalment of the ‘Venom’ film series has resumed. The actor revealed that through his Instagram social media handle.
It was previously announced (when the strike ended) that ‘Venom 3’ will be released on 8th November 2024. The Venom sequel was officially announced to be under development in April 2022 and began pre-production work in February 2023.
As per earlier reports and the latest announcement by the film’s lead actor Tom Hardy, it looks like ‘Venom 3’ would be the final installment of the ‘Venom’ franchise. The sequel is being directed by Kelly Marcel, who was the writer of the first two Venom films. Interestingly, Tom Hardy has co-written ‘Venom 3’ along with Kelly Marcel.
Alongside Tom Hardy in the lead role, ‘Venom 3’ also features ‘Ted Lasso’ star Juno Temple and British actor Chiwetel Ejiofor. As of now, the plot details of ‘Venom 3’ are shrouded in secrecy like every other Marvel movie. Interestingly, Sony’s Spider-Man universe and the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) running parallelly have been linked through the multiverse. It remains to be seen whether any MCU characters could possibly crossover and make an appearance in ‘Venom 3’.
Tom Hardy will next be seen in Jeff Nichols’ drama movie ‘The Bikeriders’ and is also set to star in an action thriller movie titled ‘Havoc’ which will be directed by Gareth Evans. Stay tuned to Binged for the latest updates on the ‘Venom’ sequel.
