Cubicles Season 2 (Streaming on SonyLIV)
A light-hearted workplace drama, the show’s plot follows the events in the life of a new employee at Synnotech Technologies Piyush (played by Abhishek Chauhan) and how he deals with his colleagues and office politics, etc. The series also features Nidhi Bisht and Shivakant Parihar (of ‘Aspirants’ fame) in important roles. The second season would ostensibly further delve into Piyush’s story arc and his new struggles, hopes, and aspirations amidst the cutthroat corporate world.
Gora (Streaming on Hoichoi)
The plot of the series revolves around the titular serial killer expert and an unusual detective named Gourab Sen aka Gora who makes it his mission to unravel the mystery behind a serial killer who is behind the murders of literary greats of Kolkata.
Pushpa: The Rise – Part 1 (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)
The first part of the Telugu action-drama flick features Allu Arjun, Fahadh Faasil, and Rashmika Mandanna. The film’s plot revolves around the titular protagonist Pushpa Raj (played by Allu Arjun), who essays the role of truck driver amidst the backdrop of red sandalwood smuggling in the forests of South India.
The Tender Bar (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)
This George Clooney’s directorial drama film is based on a memoir of the same name written by J. R. Moehringer. The film follows the story of a charismatic but fatherless boy and his quest for finding fatherly figures amongst the patrons at a bar where his uncle works as a bartender. The film features Ben Affleck, Tye Sheridan, and Christopher Lloyd amongst others.
‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’ (Streaming on Netflix)
Directed by Abhishek Kapoor of ‘Kai Po Che’ and ‘Rock On’ fame, ‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’ features Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor in the lead roles of a fitness coach and a Zumba instructor respectively. The plot starts off as a ‘regular boy meets a girl and falls in love’ story, however, things take a different turn after a surprising revelation is made that could affect their relationship.
Lakshya (Streaming on Aha Video)
‘Lakshya’ is a Telugu sports drama movie that features Naga Shaurya as a talented archer and his attempt to fulfill his dream of winning a medal for India at the prestigious World Championships event. The film’s plot focuses on the ups and downs of his professional and personal journey.
Varudu Kaavalenu (Streaming on Zee5)
It’s a Telugu language rom-com featuring Naga Shaurya & Ritu Varma in the lead roles. The story is about a woman named Bhoomi who runs a start-up business venture and whose parents want her to get married despite her unwillingness. Then, an architect from Paris arrives in India in search of a bride. Are Bhoomi and Akash destined to be each other despite her reluctance?
Black Mafia Family (Streaming on Lionsgate Play)
Inspired by a true story, this nine-part crime drama series follows the story of how two brothers give rise to the titular US-based drug trafficking and money laundering organization in the 1980s period.
Anbarivu (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar)
It’s a Tamil action movie that follows the lives of the titular twins namely Anbu and Arivu (played by Hip Hop Tamizha Adhi) who are brought up with a drastically different upbringing after they are separated. Things take an interesting turn when the twin brothers are forced to switch their lives.
Kaun Banegi Shikharwati (Streaming on Zee5)
The web series features an aging erstwhile king (Naseeruddin Shah) who makes a plan to reunite his four estranged daughters (Lara Dutta, Soha Ali Khan, Anya Singh, Kritika Kamra) amidst an ongoing income tax investigation. He takes the help of his dependable right-hand man (Raghubir Yadav) to execute the bizarre plan and save his precious legacy.
