There is no doubt in admitting that Netflix’s One Piece has become a global sensation. The live-action adaptation still has a long way to go, but luring over 37.8 million views in less than two weeks of its release is no joke. It is visible that Netflix has put much effort into One Piece, learning from its failed attempt with Cowboy Bebop. This is why Season 2 will arrive for sure. And it may introduce the following characters from the original anime series.
Crocodile
Crocodile is the Arabasta Arc’s primary antagonist in the One Piece universe. He is considered one of the deadliest and most cunning baddies in the franchise and becomes a long-term adversary of Luffy. He is the former president of Baroque Works, a mysterious and dangerous crime syndicate. In addition, he was one of the original Seven Warlords of the Sea but lost that honour after failing to take control of the Arabasta Kingdom.
Nico Robin
Former partner of Crocodile, Nico Robin, is an archaeologist who later becomes a member of the Straw Hat Pirates. She has the power to reproduce her body parts at any time. Plus, she is one of the two people in the franchise who can read and comprehend Poneglyphs, establishing herself as one of the most important members of Luffy’s pirate gang.
Monkey D. Dragon
Considered one of the most dangerous criminals in One Piece’s universe, Monkey D. Dragon is also Luffy’s father. His ultimate goal in Season 2 may be uprooting the World Government through his Revolutionary Army. He is one of the most intriguing characters in the original anime series and stays mostly behind the curtains. However, he may get more importance in Season 2, helping viewers to understand his dynamics with Luffy in a better way.
Vivi
Vivi made her first appearance in the anime series through the Reverse Mountain arc, under the codename Miss Wednesday. She is also the Arabasta Kingdom princess and a former Baroque Works member. However, she joins the group of Straw Hat Pirates during the Arabasta Saga. After defeating Baroque Works, Vivi decides to stay in Arabasta. She is another intriguing character that could appear in One Piece Season 2.
Ace
Son of pirate king Gol D. Roger and Luffy’s sworn brother, Ace, possesses the ability to control fire. He is a prominent pirate and treasures deadly combat skills, making him an integral member of Luffy’s gang. He will also come in handy for the Straw Hat Pirates when it voyages through the Grand Line Ocean to discover the ultimate One Piece treasure.
