Top 5 Foreign Films & Series Releasing This Week on OTT Platforms

Last week was marked with the arrival of many exciting foreign OTT films and shows such as ‘Money Heist: Part 5 Volume 2’, ‘Lost in Space S3’, ‘The Power of The Dog’, and ‘F9’, to name a few.

Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated OTT films and web series coming up. For this article, we have collated a list of top foreign titles streaming on OTT platforms this week.

David and the Elves (Streaming on Netflix from 6th December)

It’s a Polish Christmas fantasy comedy movie that follows the journey of a neglected and bullied eleven-year-old young boy named David and a popular but overworked elf Albert, who helps David in his quest to find his grandparents in the mountains of Tatra.

Voir (Streaming on Netflix from 6th December)

It’s a six-episode documentary series executive produced by veteran filmmaker David Fincher (Seven, Fight Club, Gone Girl) which is a tribute of sorts for the love of cinema. Each episode of the docuseries will be narrated in the form of video essays focussing on the craft of filmmaking and how some films changed the way cinema is made and viewed.

The Lighthouse (Streaming on Netflix from 6th December)

Helmed by Robert Eggers (The Witch) and set in the 1890s, ‘The Lighthouse’ is a widely acclaimed psychological horror-thriller film that features Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe in the lead roles. In the film, they essay the roles of two lighthouse keepers on the brink of madness while stationed in a far-off and inhospitable New England Island.

The Unforgivable (Streaming on Netflix from 10th December)

An adaptation of the British miniseries titled ‘Unforgiven’, the movie features Oscar-winning actress Sandra Bullock as Ruth Slater, a woman who attempts to re-join a reluctant society after getting released from prison owing to a violent crime committed in the past. Her only hope for redemption remains in her search for her estranged sister whom she had left behind.

The Expanse (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 10th December)

Set about two hundred years in the future, the science fiction thriller series (opening season) revolves around a missing person investigation by a detective and a ship captain against the backdrop of political tensions between Earth, a colonized Mars, and an asteroid belt and how they find themselves amidst the world’s biggest conspiracy ever.
