Top 5 Production Houses In Indian Entertainment Industry

2022 has been a year worthy of a case study. There have been some monstrous successes throughout the country and some absolute fiascoes. More or less, this year was about swinging in extremes. Either the films would be blockbusters or disastrous. 2022 offered a little in-between.

Thus we have brought you a list of the top 5 production houses in India this year. Let’s see which ones managed to enter the list.

5. Dharma Productions
Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions had a more than a decent year in 2022. It established itself as the dominant force in Bollywood with films like Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva and Jug Jugg Jeeyo.

The year began with the unprecedented and phenomenal success of Deepika Padukone led Gehraiyaan on Prime Video. The year ended with the blasting success of Govinda Naam Mera on Disney+Hotstar.

Meanwhile, Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva and Jug Jugg Jeeyo were highly successful at the box office. The only film to put a break on this winning run was Liger: Saala Crossbreed.

4. Pen Movies
Jayantilal Gada’s Pen Movies had a surprising year this time. Although they produced only Gangubai Kathiawadi and Attack, their real money rained from the distribution of South Indian films. Even in that, Gangubai Kathiawadi was a prominent success in Bollywood.

RRR, Chup: The Revenge Of An Artist, Sita Ramam, Vikram, and Ponniyin Selvan 1 were also big successes in the Hindi belt. Overall, Pen Movies would want 2022 to repeat next year.

3. Lyca Productions
When it comes to Tamil cinema then Mani Ratnam is the first name that takes it to new heights. In the 90s he made nationally successful films and these days, he is taking it to the global stage.

Ponniyin Selvan 1 and its success will always be a benchmark in Kollywood. Lyca Productions had a great year producing and owning the film. Other than that even Don was a successful film.

2. DVV Entertainment
DVV Entertainment produced only one film this year. And it was a film every production house would love to produce. We are talking about RRR.

It was once in a century opportunity for DVV and they hit the Bull’s eye.

1.Hombale Films
With only two films this year, Hombale Films might have had the best year for any production house in India. The epic success of KGF: Chapter 2 and Kantara made it happen.

KGF: Chapter 2 was the biggest box office success this year and a low-budget film like Kantara managed to cross 400 crores. Even after that, Kantara is counted as one of the best films released this year. Needless to say, Hombale is the ultimate champion in all aspects.
