Last week was marked with the arrival of many exciting Indian OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘Matsya Kaand’, ‘Dhamaka’, ‘Your Honor Season 2’, ‘Mandaar’, and ‘Cash’, to name a few.
Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated OTT films and web series coming up. For this article, we have collated a list of top Indian titles streaming on OTT platforms this week.
2024 (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 23rd November)
Helmed by Rohin Raveendran Nair in his feature film directorial debut, the film is set in the year 2024 and the plot revolves around four friends and their attempt to escape their city which has been plagued by a deadly virus. A unique thing about the Vikramaditya Motwane backed movie is that it has been shot on OnePlus.
Drushyam 2 (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 25th November)
The film is a sequel to the 2014 film ‘Drushyam’ and also the Telugu language remake of the Mohanlal starrer unanimously acclaimed mystery thriller ‘Drishyam 2’. Veteran actor Venkatesh reprises his role as the father trying to save his family from the cops even six years after the fateful incident and has been directed by the parent film’s director Jeethu Joseph.
Chhorii (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 26th November)
Directed by Vishal Furia, the Amazon original horror flick ‘Chhorii’ features Nushrratt Bharuccha in the lead role. The film ostensibly follows a pregnant woman who escapes along with her husband to a remote village in a house that is surrounded by eerie sugarcane fields. The woman soon begins to experience some strange phenomenon and past secrets begin to unravel during her quest to investigate the mystery.
Dil Bekaraar (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 26th November)
Directed by Habib Faisal, the light-hearted drama show, set in the 1980s period, revolves around the Delhi-based Thakur family. An adaptation of Anuja Chauhan’s ‘Those Pricey Thakur Girls’, the show features a talented cast that includes Raj Babbar, Poonam Dhillon, Padmini Kolhapure, Chandrachur Singh, Akshay Oberoi, and Saher Bammba, amongst others.
Republic (Streaming on Zee5 from 26th November)
The critically acclaimed intense political drama is finally making its way to the OTT world this week. Helmed by Deva Katta, the film stars Sai Dharam Tej as an IAS officer who makes it his mission to cause a change in the system that is replete with rampant corruption.
Hiccups and Hookups (Streaming on Lionsgate Play from 26th November)
Directed by Kunal Kohli (Hum Tum, Fanaa), the show is an official adaptation of the American comedy-drama series ‘Casual’ and the first Indian original series by Lionsgate Play. The show features Lara Dutta and Prateik Babbar in the lead roles who essay the roles of a brother-sister duo in what is described as a no-filter family. While the show’s teaser trailer received rather mixed feedback, let’s see how well it’s received by the OTT audiences this week.
