Top 6 Indian Films & Series Streaming This Week on OTT

Last week was marked with the arrival of many exciting Indian OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘Bhaukaal Season 2’, ‘Unpaused: Naya Safar’, ‘Shyam Singha Roy’, ‘Akhanda’, and ‘Bhoothakaalam’, to name a few.

Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated OTT films and web series coming up. For this article, we have collated a list of top Indian titles streaming on OTT platforms this week.

Bro Daddy (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 26th January)

The film is Prithviraj Sukumaran’s second directorial film after the 2019 political thriller ‘Lucifer’ and reunites him with veteran actor Mohanlal. The film revolves around a father-son duo of John Kattadi who is an industrialist and his son Eesho who works as a digital marketing executive. While Kalyani Priyadarshan essays the role of Eesho’s love interest.

Badava Rascal (Streaming on Voot from 26th January)

It’s a Kannada comedy-drama movie that narrates the story of an urban, middle-class man who falls in love with the daughter of a politician. He gets kidnapped by a gang and attempts to convince his abductors to introspect on their lives and actions by recounting his own life story that includes love, breakup, friendship, etc.

Aaha (Streaming on Zee5 from 26th January)

Helmed by debutante director Bibin Paul Samuel, this Malayalam sports film revolves around Kerala’s immensely popular local sports called ‘tug of war’ (Vadamvali in Malayalam). The film’s narrative focuses on a famous tug of war team ‘Aaha Neeloor’ who was in terrific form in the 80s and 90s era.

Kapil Sharma: I’m Not Done Yet (Streaming on Netflix from 28th January)

It’s a stand-up special show featuring India’s king of comedy Kapil Sharma. For the first time, the immensely popular master of laughter will narrate several unknown instances from his own life in, obviously, a humorous way using his trademark amusing style.

Tadap (Streaming of Disney+ Hotstar from 28th January)

It’s a romantic action movie helmed by Milan Luthria (Director – Deewaar, Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai). The plot follows the story of a Mussoorie-based man Ishana (Ahan Shetty), who falls madly in love with a powerful politician’s daughter Ramisa (Tara Sutaria), who is also attracted to him. Things take an interesting turn when the girl’s father comes to know about their relationship but there is more to it than meets the eye.

Barun Rai and the House on the Cliff (Streaming on Eros Now from 28th January)

Helmed by Sam Bhattacharjee, it’s an Indo-British psychological horror film that follows the story of a newly married couple Harmesh (Sid Makkar) and Soumili (Nyra Banerjee) who relocate to a seemingly perfect new house. However, the goings-on take an adverse turn when the couple begins to experience strange and mysterious phenomena. Now, only one person can help them – paranormal expert Barun Rai (played by Priyanshu Chatterjee of ‘Tum Bin’ fame)
