Top 7 Films of Late Sushant Singh Rajput That You Must Watch

By Binged Bureau - Jan 21, 2021 @ 12:01 pm

Today is the birthday of the late Sushant Singh Rajput and the actor would have turned 35 today. He gave us so many moments to root for whether it was Manav on the small screen or the captain cool on the big screen.

He proved his versatility by taking up projects which showed him in different dimensions right from a detective during the freedom struggle to a dacoit fighting for justice.
Today on his birthday let us take a few moments to appreciate his brilliance with this list of films that won the hearts of the audiences.

Dil Bechara: Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar
Dil Bechara was the last movie in which he starred before his fateful demise. It had a direct to OTT release on Disney+ Hotstar where the makers chose to keep it free for all. This is the official Hindi remake of “The fault in our stars” and will leave you teary-eyed at the end of it.

Two patients (Manny and Kizie) with terminal illnesses fall in love with each other. They make a pact to live out the rest of their days fulfilling all their promises and living life to the fullest while staying happy and positive. The story will make you emotional and tug at your heart for its simple storytelling and cute characters.

Detective Byomkesh Bakshy: Streaming on Amazon Prime
Detective-Byomkesh-BakshyDetective Byomkesh Bakshy could easily be called the Indian equivalent of the internationally acclaimed Sherlock Holmes. He is feisty, quick-witted, and has an unorthodox manner in which he functions but gets the desired results ultimately.

Byomkesh is just fresh out of college and agrees to investigate a case regarding the disappearance of Bhuvan who is a chemist. Things start to take an unsettling turn as he uncovers truths that will shake the entire fabric of the city. It is possibly one of the best detective stories created by an Indian filmmaker with a riveting plot and some crazy twists

Sonchiriya: Streaming on Zee 5
SonchiriyaSonchiriya is the story of the rebels and dacoits of the Chambal valley which is set in 1975. Apart from Sushant Singh Rajput it also has some talented performers like Ranvir Shorey, Manoj Bajpai, and Ashutosh Rana in the lead roles.

It gives us a more realistic take on how these rebels are forced to live their lives. Everything from the language to the setting and even the backdrop of this film is enticing and gives you an underlying current of the innate sadness that lies with the story. Even the Bundelkhandi accent and the laughter has a despotic feel to them at times.

Kai Po Che: Streaming on Netflix
Kai-Po-CheKai Po Che can be termed as one of the first films that made Sushant Singh Rajput a star in the Bollywood industry as this so-called outsider finally stamped his mark on the viewers. Kai Po Che is the story of three friends and the special bond that they share.

Kai Po Che is based on the best-selling novel from Chetan Bhagat titled ‘Three Mistakes of My Life’. The three friends get together and start a cricket academy along with a training institute where they coach young children but an earthquake and political turmoil in the local area cause things to go severely out of hand.

Chhichhore: Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar
ChhichhoreWe have had many movies that show us the struggles of engineering or college life but only a few of them have come so close to giving us the whole package right from laughter to emotional moments that left us with an inspiring message.

Chhichhore is the story of Anirudh who tries to take his life because he fails to secure the necessary cut to get into the college of his dreams. His old man takes him down memory lane as he reminisces all the moments in college life and teaches his son that failure is not always the worst thing that could happen to a person. The film also tells us the importance of having good friends in your life.

MS Dhoni: The Untold Story: Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar
MS-DhoniSushant Singh Rajput garnered a lot of praise for his portrayal of M S Dhoni as he lived the character on screen and the viewers fell in love with his charisma and presence. He worked hard to imbibe the character in all its glory and all that hard work resulted in a cinematic spectacle.
MS Dhoni: The Untold story took us on a journey of how a small boy from Ranchi with big dreams and hopes makes it to the top of the cricketing world with his headfast determination and unorthodox style of playing. Dhoni ruled our hearts for several years and so did Sushant Singh Rajput with his earnest portrayal.

Kedarnath: Streaming on Zee 5
Kedarnath-Streaming-on-ZeeKedarnath was another heart touching story and marked the debut of Sara Ali Khan. Kedarnath is the story of Mansoor who is a shy and quiet Muslim porter but eventually falls for Mukku who is the daughter of a Hindu priest.

We have seen quite a few riveting tales of romance between different cultures, religions, and factions in the past but this one had a really simple narrative with the spiritual background of Kedarnath that gave it a soothing touch. Their love is put to the test amid natural disasters and a lot of misunderstanding.

There was a lot of controversy surrounding the death of Sushant Singh Rajput and we do not want to allege or assume anything but we only want to humbly remember him as an artist who provided a lot of smiles to audiences everywhere in the nation and world.
