The first half of September month witnessed the release of some exciting foreign OTT titles such as ‘Schumacher’, ‘Mortal Combat’, ‘Kate’, ‘Lucifer Season 6’, ‘The Baker and The Beauty’, ‘The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard’, ‘Cinderella’, ‘Money Heist Part 5 Volume 1’, ‘Black Widow’, ‘The Father’, and ‘Turning Point: 9/11 and the War on Terror’, etc.
Similarly, some more eagerly anticipated foreign OTT titles are slated to release in the second half of the remaining month. In this article, we have included some of the top foreign titles that will stream on Indian OTT platforms hereafter.
Sex Education Season 3 (Streaming on Netflix from 17th September)
This British comedy-drama series, that focuses on school students and their parents, has had a successful OTT run for two seasons spanning sixteen episodes. The third season is streaming on Netflix from today onwards.
Squid Game (Streaming on Netflix from 17th September)
Squid Game is a South Korean series that follows the story of 456 people, who have somewhat failed in their lives, and they are invited to participate in a dangerous survival called ‘Squid Game’. The winner of the game will take home a huge amount.
Reservation Dogs (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 20th September)
The comedy television series follows four rural Oklahoma-based Native American teenagers who want to escape to California. The show has already been renewed for a second season.
The Resident Season 5 (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 21st September)
This one is for fans of medical / doctor-based dramas. ‘Training Day’ director Antoine Fuqua was one of the executive producers of the series. The plot follows an idealistic young doctor at Chastain Memorial Hospital, who, with a group of doctors, deal with various personal and professional challenges. The fifth season of the show is set to start streaming from 21st September onwards.
Intrusion (Streaming on Netflix from 22nd September)
It’s a thriller film starring Indian actress Freida Pinto and ‘Upgrade’ actor Logan Marshall-Green. The story follows a couple who relocate to a small town where a home invasion incident leaves the wife traumatized.
Star Wars: Visions (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 22nd September)
It’s an anime anthology series which is a collection of nine short, animated films created by various Japanese animation studios.
The Wonder Years (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 22nd September)
The series narrated by Don Cheadle is inspired by the 1988 show of the same name. Set in the late 1960s, the story follows residents of a middle-class Black family told from the perspective of a twelve-year-old boy and his experiences of growing up there.
The Suicide Squad (Streaming on Apple Tv Plus, Google Play, Youtube, Book My Show from 23rd September)
The film is directed by James Gunn’s and features Idris Alba (as Bloodsport), Margot Robbie (as Harley Quinn), John Cena (as Peacemaker), Sylvester Stallone (as King Shark), and Joel Kinnaman (as Colonel Rick Flag), amongst others. It’s about the titular team of supervillains who are sent on a deadly mission in order to destroy evidence of an alien starfish.
Goliath Season 4 (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 24th September)
The legal drama stars Billy Bob Thornton as an alcoholic and washed-out but brilliant lawyer who is thrown out from the firm, he had himself helped build. He gets a chance to redeem himself as he accepts a case of wrongful death.
The Starling (Streaming on Netflix from 24th September)
The Melissa McCarthy starrer comedy-drama movie recently had its premiere at the 2021 Toronto International Film Festival on 12th September. McCarthy plays a grief-stricken woman Lilly, who is troubled and attacked by a Starling, who had made a nest in her backyard. How she deals with the problem, forms the rest of the plot.
Midnight Mass (Streaming on Netflix from 24th September)
It’s a horror miniseries comprising seven episodes helmed by ‘Doctor Sleep’ and ‘Gerald’s Game’ director Mike Flanagan. The story revolves around an isolated island community and their experience with supernatural events after the arrival of a charismatic and mysterious priest.
