Last week was marked with the arrival of some exciting foreign OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘Happiness’, ‘Death on the Nile’, ‘Outer Range’, and ‘Anatomy of a Scandal’, to name a few.
Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated OTT films and web series coming up for release. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top foreign titles streaming on Indian OTT platforms from this week.
The Batman (Streaming on BookMyShow from 18th April)
Helmed by Matt Reeves and set during the second year of Batman’s crime-fighting endeavors, ‘The Batman’ stars Robert Pattinson as the billionaire masked vigilante and protector of Gotham City.
When the city’s privileged class begins to become the victims of a ruthless serial killer Riddler (Paul Dano), Batman must decipher the clues left behind by the killer and unearth the corruption in Gotham City. The film also features Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as Penguin.
Better Call Saul Season 6 (Streaming on Netflix from 19th April)
Set in the same universe as the cult crime show ‘Breaking Bad’, its critically acclaimed successor ‘Better Call Saul’ narrates the backstory of the titular protagonist Saul Goodman. The plot revolves around an ex-conman Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) and how he transforms into a morally corrupt criminal defense attorney.
Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul will reportedly reprise their characters of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman in the upcoming final season of ‘Better Call Saul’ as guest stars.
The Marked Heart (Streaming on Netflix from 20th April)
When Simon’s wife is murdered and her heart is transplanted to an affluent woman named Camila, he makes it his mission to avenge his wife’s death from the organization responsible for it. This leads him into the dangerous world of human trafficking. However, by a twist of fate, he also falls in love with the heart receiver – Camila.
King Richard (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 22nd April)
The biographical sports drama showcases how the legendary tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams were trained by their father Richard Williams (played by Will Smith) against all odds while working as a security guard. Will Smith has recently won an Oscar for his earnest performance in the film.
Gaslit (Streaming on Lionsgate Play from 22nd April)
Helmed by Matt Ross (Director – Captain Fantastic), the politically-charged show is being described as a modern take revolving around untold stories and forgotten characters apropos the Watergate scandal.
While the Oscar-winning actor Sean Penn (The Mystic River, Milk) will be essaying the role of President Richard Nixon’s loyal attorney general John Mitchell, the show will predominantly revolve around Julia Roberts’s character Martha Mitchell, the socialite wife of John Mitchell, who eventually became the first person to publicly bring to attention the matter of Nixon’s involvement in Watergate.
