To say that 2024 is going to be an entertaining year for cinephiles across the globe would be an understatement. Yesterday, we gave you a list of the most anticipated Hollywood sequels arriving next year. For this write-up, let’s see what Hollywood has to offer in 2024 as far as superhero movies and shows are concerned (with some obvious overlaps).
Echo (Series)
Marvel’s Hawkeye spin-off series will take place after the events shown in ‘Hawkeye’ and will feature Alaqua Cox as the titular Native American superhero Echo, who goes back to her hometown and reconnects with her past. It will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on 10th January 2024.
Madame Web (Film)
Dakota Johnson’s Spider-Man universe-based Marvel superhero movie ‘Madame Web’ is set to be released on 14th February 2024. The film features Dakota Johnson as a mutant who has psychic abilities and can see within the spider world. The movie also features Adam Scott, Sydney Sweeney, and Emma Roberts.
Invincible Season-2 (Series)
The remaining four episodes of ‘Invincible Season-2’ will premiere sometime in early 2024. The underlying story revolves around Mark Grayson, whose superhero father Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons) is the most powerful person on planet Earth. After Mark gains his own superpowers at 17, he struggles to transform himself into the titular superhero Invincible and tries to balance it with his regular life.
X-Men ’97 (Series)
The animated superhero series revolves around a group of superpowered mutants including Cyclops, Jean, Rogue, Beast, Wolverine, Magento and others. It will premiere in the early months of 2024.
Deadpool 3 (Film)
After the massive successes of the first two Deadpool films, the third installment of the superhero franchise will be released in theatres on 26th July 2024. The major enticing factor about the sequel is the addition of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine / Logan. Fans are curious about the on-screen chemistry between Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s characters.
Kraven the Hunter (Film)
Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s superhero flick ‘Kraven the Hunter’ is slated to be released on 30th August 2024. He will be essaying the titular role of the powerful hunter warrior who has animal-like abilities. It also features Russel Crowe and Ariana DeBose in important roles.
The Boys Season-4 (Series)
The fourth season of the superhero series is set to arrive in 2024 but the exact release date is not confirmed. The plot follows another group of titular vigilantes, who are hellbent on destroying those superheroes who abuse their superpowers. The ragtag team is led by the disgruntled Billy Butcher who is after Vought’s most powerful superhero team ‘The Seven’ led by the indestructible megalomaniac Homelander.
Venom 3 (Film)
After the box office successes of superhero movie ‘Venom’ and its sequel ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’, Sony and Marvel are now gearing up for the third ‘Venom’ movie. The yet-untitled sequel is slated for a theatrical release on 8th November 2024. Alongside Tom Hardy in the lead role, ‘Venom 3’ also features ‘Ted Lasso’ star Juno Temple and British actor Chiwetel Ejiofor.
Agatha: Darkhold Diaries (Series)
The ‘WandaVision’ spin-off ‘Agatha: Darkhold Diaries’ features Kathryn Hahn in the lead role of the powerful witch and focuses on how she tries to get back her lost powers. It is expected to arrive sometime in late 2024.
Eyes of Wakanda (Series)
The ‘Black Panther’ based animated series will revolve around how the coveted Black Panther mantle was transferred over a period of time to different Wakandan warriors and ancestors of T’Challa. The show is expected to be released sometime in 2024.
Watchmen (Film)
The animated film is based on the iconic graphic novel of the same name. The basic story is set in a dystopian world and the story revolves around a group of former superheroes. It will be out in 2024 but the exact release date in India is not known yet.
Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man (Series)
The animated series focuses on how Peter Parker transformed from an ordinary boy into a superhero in a never-seen-before way. The show will be out in 2024 but release date is yet to be announced.
