Last week was marked with the arrival of some exciting Indian OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘Swaang’, ‘Anamika’, ‘Maaran’, ‘Mrs and Mr Shameem’, ‘Super Sharanya’, and ‘Qubool Hai’, to name a few.
Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated OTT films and web series coming up. For this article, we have collated a list of top Indian titles streaming on OTT platforms this week.
Jalsa (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 18th March)
Helmed by Suresh Triveni, the film is an investigative thriller whose plotline revolves around a hit and run case where the victim is an 18-year-old girl. The goings-on are narrated from the point of view of an outstanding journalist (played by Vidya Balan) and a distressed mother (Shefali Shah) as they navigate through the legal and moral rigmarole to bring the culprit to justice.
Salute (Streaming on SonyLIV from 18th March)
Helmed by Rosshan Andrrews, the film features Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role of a committed police sub-inspector named Aravind Karunakaran, who gets involved in the investigation of the killing of a middle-aged couple. After realizing that an innocent person has wrongly been accused of the crime, he makes it his mission to nab the real culprit. Bollywood actress Diana Penty stars opposite Dulquer Salmaan in the film.
Bloody Brothers (Streaming on Zee5 from 18th March)
Helmed by Shaad Ali (Saathiya, Bunty Aur Babli), the show is an adaptation of the mystery thriller Scottish series ‘Guilt’. The plot revolves around the titular protagonists – two disparate brothers named Jaggi (Jaideep Ahlawat) and Daljit (Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub). On a fateful night, they accidentally run over an old man. They manage to hide the crime, but their lives become hellish when people begin to suspect.
Apharan Season 2 (Streaming on Voot, Alt Balaji from 18th March)
‘Main Tera Her’ actor Arunoday Singh reprises his role as a senior cop Rudra Srivastava who goes on a deadly mission to Thailand in order to kidnap a criminal mastermind called BBS while dealing with his own personal problems.
Lalitham Sundaram (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 18th March)
It’s a Malayalam comedy-drama movie helmed by Madhu Warrier in his directorial debut. The family drama film features Manju Warrier, Biju Menon, Deepti Sati, Anu Mohan and revolves around the stories of a younger couple and an older couple and their struggles and relationships.
