Top Indian OTT Films & Series Streaming on September 2nd Half

The first half of September month witnessed the release of some exciting Indian OTT titles such as Tughlaq Durbar, Bhoot Police, NET, Tuck Jagadish, Dikkiloona, Mumbai Diaries 26/11, and Candy, to name a few. Similarly, some more eagerly anticipated Indian OTT titles are slated to release in the second half of the remaining month. In this article, we have included some of the top titles that will stream on Indian OTT platforms hereafter.

Bellbottom (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 16th September)

After the film’s theatrical release on 19th August, it has started streaming on Amazon Prime Video from today. The period film, which is said to be inspired by true events, follows Akshay Kumar’s undercover RAW agent titular character who is brought in to rescue hostages after a plane is hijacked.

Ankahi Kahaniya (Streaming on Netflix from 17th September)

It’s an anthology film helmed by three gifted directors namely Abhishek Chaubey (Udta Punjab), Saket Chaudhary (Hindi Medium), and Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari (Bareilly Ki Barfi). The film features Kunal Kapoor, Abhishek Banerjee, Zoya Hussain, Rinku Rajguri, Delzad Hiwale, and Nikhil Dwivedi amongst others.

Annabelle Sethupathi (Streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar from 17th September)

This Vijay Sethupathi and Taapsee Pannu starrer ‘Annabelle Sethupathi’ is being described as a comedy fantasy horror movie that’s written and directed by debutante director Deepak Sundarrajan and will also feature Yogi Babu and Radhika Sarathkumar. Vijay Sethupathi and Taapsee Pannu will be seen in double roles.

Maestro (Streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar from 17th September)

‘Maestro’ is the Telugu remake of Sriram Raghavan’s cult mystery-crime ‘Andhadhun’ which originally starred Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu, and Radhika Apte in the lead roles. The remake stars Nithiin, Tamannaah Bhatia, Jisshu Sengupta, and Nabha Natesh. It remains to be seen whether it lives up to the original film’s expectations or not.

Unheard (Streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar from 17th September)

Helmed by critically acclaimed author Aditya KV, the series is a period drama that is ostensibly based on the struggle of the ‘unheard’ common man during and a few years after the freedom struggle revolving around the important city of Hyderabad during that era.

Kaanekkaane (Streaming on SonyLIV from 17th September)

This Tovino Thomas starrer Malayalam film helmed by Manu Ashokan will release on SonyLIV OTT platform tomorrow. Although not much is known about the film’s plot, its trailer suggests that the film has some mystery elements.

Haathi Mere Saathi (Streaming on Eros Now from 18th September)

The Rana Daggubati starrer Hindi version of the film, as the name suggests, revolves around the relationship between humans and animals. Rana Daggubati plays Bandev as a jungle man who lives with elephants.

Crime Stories: Indian Detectives (Streaming on Netflix from 22nd September)

Set amidst the backdrop of India’s Silicon Valley Bengaluru city, the four-part documentary film follows Bengaluru cops and about the workings of four major crime investigations.

Sunny (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 23rd September)

This is Malayalam actor Jayasurya’s 100th film and his eighth collaboration with director Ranjith. In the film, the actor plays a musician going through a creative block. He has lost everything he has earned and smuggles himself from Dubai to Kerala amidst the pandemic.

Kota Factory Season 2 (streaming on Netflix from 24th September)

More than two years after its opening season, the second season of the much-loved web series is geared up for release on Netflix later this month on September 24. Set in Kota, Rajasthan, the web series is a monochrome sneak-peek into the lives of IIT entrance exam coaching students.

Raame Aandalum Raavane Aandalum (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 24th September)

Named after a song from Rajinikanth’s film, this is the first movie of the four-film deal between Suriya’s 2D Entertainment with Amazon Prime Video OTT platform. The film revolves around the missing bulls of a husband and wife and their efforts to bring them back.
