Last week was marked with the arrival of some exciting Indian OTT titles including several films and web series such as ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, ‘Mishan Impossible’, and ‘Never Kiss Your Best Friend Season 2’, to name a few.
Likewise, the current week too has some eagerly anticipated OTT films and web series coming up. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top Indian titles streaming on OTT platforms this week.
Baked Season 3 (Streaming on Voot from 2nd May)
The light-hearted comedy-drama show revolves around three flatmates and university friends. They meet up after seven years for a holiday in the hills, to get some respite from their routine work. Helmed by Vishwajoy Mukherjee, the web series features Pranay Manchanda, Shantanu Anam, Manik Papneja, and Kriti Vij in the lead roles.
Radhe Shyam (Hindi) (Streaming on Netflix from 4th May)
Written and directed by Radha Krishna Kumar, ‘Radhe Shyam’ is a period romance drama set in 1970s Europe. The film’s plot follows the story of a gifted palmist Vikramaditya (Prabhas) who does not believe in long-lasting romantic relationships. However, things change when he falls for a beautiful female doctor Prerna (Pooja Hedge).
Thar (Streaming on Netflix from 6th May)
The Western noir action thriller movie has been helmed by actor-director Raj Singh Chaudhary, whose last directorial was the 2021 musical drama ‘Shadisthan’. The plot follows an antique dealer Siddharth (Harshvardhan Kapoor), who visits a secluded village in Rajasthan. In the sleepy desert town, Siddharth encounters a veteran cop (Anil Kapoor) who is investigating a series of killings that might be connected to him.
Jhund (Streaming on Zee5 from 6th May)
Helmed by Nagraj Manjule, the Amitabh Bachchan starrer biographical sports drama film is based on the life of the founder of NGO Slum Soccer Vijay Barse. The veteran actor essayed the role of a professor who encourages a ragtag bunch of street children to make a football team. How he transforms an untrained Jhund (crowd) against all odds into a proper team drives the film’s story forward.
Home Shanti (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 6th May)
The series revolves around a middle-class family comprising a newspaper columnist husband (Manoj Pahwa) and his retired school vice-principal wife (Supriya Pathak). The family aspires to fulfill the long-standing desire of building a dream home. However, the task does not turn out to be as easy as expected as they must face many hindrances along the way.
Stories on the Next Page (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 6th May)
Directed by Brinda Mitra, it’s an anthology film comprising three short stories. The stories range from a sibling story, to a mother-son story, and another one revolving around a gay couple. All these stories are connected by one common theme: closure.
Pet Puraan (Streaming on SonyLIV from 6th May)
The Marathi web series revolves around a happily married modern working couple Atul (Lalit Prabhakar) and Aditi (Sai Tamhankar) who are not willing to have kids. But their decision does not go well with their conventional families.
