Friday is invariably an exciting day for OTT viewers and today is no exception. Some eagerly anticipated Indian and foreign films and series have already been or will be released today as well on various Indian OTT platforms. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top streaming titles (in no particular order) that are already out or will be out on Indian OTT platforms today.
Gargi (Streaming on SonyLIV)
The film’s basic plotline follows the titular schoolteacher Gargi (essayed by Sai Pallavi), who is all geared up to get married soon. Her father Brahmanandam (RS Shivaji) is employed as a security guard in a housing society. One day, when her father does not return home, Gargi learns that he has been wrongfully accused in a sexual assault case of a minor. Gargi’s ensuing legal battle to prove her father’s innocence forms the rest of the film’s plot.
Shabaash Mithu (Streaming on Netflix, Voot)
The film is a biopic based on the inspiring life story of former women’s Indian National cricket team captain Mithali Raj, who had led India to the finals of the 2017 Women’s Cricket World Cup. Taapsee Pannu has essayed the titular role in the film directed by Srijit Mukherji. The movie also features Vijay Raaz as Mithali Raj’s mentor/guide and Mumtaz Sorcar as Jhulan Goswami, amongst other cast members.
Never Have I Ever Season-3 (Streaming on Netflix)
The high-school comedy drama series revolves around the life of Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan), an Indian American teenage girl and focuses on her relationships with friends and her romantic interests.
Cadaver (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar)
Helmed by Anoop Panicker, the mystery crime thriller follows a forensic expert Dr. Badra (played by Amala Paul), who tries to solve the brutal case of rape and murder of a young girl.
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (Streaming on Lionsgate Play)
The action-comedy movie features veteran Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage who plays a fictionalized version of himself – Nick Cage. Nick Cage is creatively not happy and his financial situation is not good either. In these circumstances, he reluctantly accepts a million dollar offer to attend the birthday party of an affluent but dangerous fan (played by Pedro Pascal). The goings-on take an interesting turn when Cage is forced to team-up with the CIA to get his own family out of trouble.
Mind the Malhotras Season 2 (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)
Based on Israeli comedy series ‘La Famiglia’, ‘Mind the Malhotras’ follows a married couple Shefali (Mini Mathur) and Rishabh (Cyrus Sahukar). In the show’s second season, their marital bond is further put to test when the husband works on a merger which can make him rich, and the wife takes up a career as an online Chef.
Hello World (Streaming on Zee5)
The eight-episode workplace drama web series follows the story of a group of eight young techies from different walks of life and how they deal with their new IT jobs in the cutthroat corporate world.
Five Days at Memorial (Streaming on Apple TV+)
Based on true from Hurricane Katrina and adapted from Pulitzer prize-winning journalist Sheri Fink’s book, the disaster medical drama miniseries focuses on the aftereffects of the hurricane on the New Orleans-based hospital and its staff. It features Vera Farmiga in the lead role of Dr. Anna Pau.
Day Shift (Streaming on Netflix)
The action horror flick features Jamie Foxx as a diligent blue-collar worker who wants a good life for his daughter. He works as a pool cleaner, but his seemingly ordinary job only acts as a front for his main source of income – vampire hunting.
Thank You (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)
The Telugu language romantic drama movie follows an arrogant and self-proclaimed self-made businessman Abhiram (played by Naga Chaitanya), who is forced to retrospect on the defining moments in his life after his girlfriend (Raashi Khanna) gets fed up with his attitude and decides to leave him.
Murder by the Sea (Streaming on Hoichoi)
It’s a whodunnit show helmed by Anjan Dutt. The story revolves around the murder of a hotshot businessman in Puri and takes a complex turn when the suspects become the targets and the body count begins to rise.
