Friday is invariably an exciting day for OTT viewers and today is no exception. Some eagerly anticipated Indian and foreign films and series have already been or will be released today as well on various Indian OTT platforms. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top streaming titles (in no particular order) that are already out or will be out on Indian OTT platforms today.
Sita Ramam (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)
Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, the film is a period romantic drama that is narrated in two timelines around two decades apart. The story follows an orphaned Army man Lieutenant Ram (played by Dulquer Salmaan), who gets a mysterious love letter from a woman named Sita (Mrunal Thakur). But when he writes a letter to Sita, it does not reach her. Cut to 1985, a Pakistani student Afreen (Rashmika Mandanna) gets involved in Ram and Sita’s love story and sets out to deliver the long-lost letter.
Cobra Kai Season-5 (Streaming on Netflix)
The martial arts drama series is set more than three decades after the events of the 1984 cult film ‘The Karate Kid’. While the parent film featured Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso in the role of the underdog protagonist and his adversary Johnny Lawrence was played by William Zabka. Whereas tables turned in the spin-off web series as the goings-on are also narrated from Johnny Lawrence’s point of view in a setting where he becomes the underdog. After Terry Silver unethically wins the Karate tournament in Season-4, Johnny and Ralph must team up again to outwit the formidable adversary.
Ek Villain Returns (Streaming on Netflix)
Mohit Suri’s romantic thriller ‘Ek Villain Returns’ features John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor, Disha Patani, and Tara Sutaria in the lead roles. The story follows two men with one-sided love and how their decisions and the path they take decide who is the hero and the villain amongst them.
Narco Saints (Streaming on Netflix)
Helmed by Yoon Jong-bin and based on true events, the South Korean series revolves around a regular businessman Kang In-gu (Ha Jung-woo), who is forced to become a part of a dangerous plan to nab the dreaded Korean kingpin Jeon Yo-hwan (Hwang Jung-min).
Uni Ki Yaari (Streaming on MX Player)
Directed by Partha Sarathi Manna, the comedy drama web series revolves around a group of friends studying in Chandigarh University and how they deal with various aspects of college life.
End of the Road (Streaming on Netflix)
The action thriller movie follows the story of a widowed mother Brenda, who must protect her family from a mysterious killer after getting involved in a murder case and a missing money bag in the New Mexico desert.
7 Days 6 Nights (Streaming on Aha Video)
Helmed by M.S. Raju, the Telugu language romantic comedy movie revolves around two close friends Anand (Sumanth Ashwin) and Mangalam (Rohan M), who are poles apart from each other. Before Mangalam gets married, the two friends plan a bachelor’s trip to Goa, where they meet two girls Rathika (Meher Chahal) and Ameya (Kritika Shetty). What follows next forms the film’s crux.
Aazaad (Streaming on Oho Gujarati)
Directed by Kewal Mistry, the five-part whodunnit web series features Hemant Kher (of ‘Scam 1992’ fame) in the role of an investigative police officer Ranjit. The cop interrogates the suspects to find out the culprit behind the murder of a pet hostel owner Raksha Patel.
Tootu Madike (Streaming on Voot)
Set amidst the rustic backdrop in Bengaluru, the Kannada language mystery comedy-of-errors movie revolves around a mythologically relevant ancient figurine, which has been lost in the slum. That’s when a group of ragtag characters get involved in finding the highly valuable antique.
No Limit (Streaming on Netflix)
Helmed by David M. Rosenthal, the French aquatic romantic drama movie follows the story of Roxana (Camille Rowe), who enrolls for a freediving course where she falls in love with the world champion instructor Pascal (Sofiane Zermani).
Gutsy (Streaming on Apple TV+)
The eight-part docuseries features Hillary Clinton and Chelsea Clinton who interview some of the bravest women from different walks of life in their attempt to understand what it takes to become a gutsy woman.
Flight/Risk (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)
The documentary film focuses on regular people who find themselves in the middle of a tragedy when two Boeing 737 Max planes crashed within a gap of just five months apart in the years 2018 and 2019.
