Friday is invariably an exciting day for OTT viewers and today is no exception. Some eagerly anticipated Indian and foreign films and series have already been or will be released today as well on various Indian OTT platforms. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top streaming titles (in no particular order) that are already out or will be out on Indian OTT platforms today.
The Boys Season-3 (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)
A satirical take on one of the most popular comic-book superheroes, the show is set in a world where superheroes are adored by people. They are being managed by a corrupt, multi-billion-dollar organization named Vought. The plot follows another group of titular vigilantes ‘The Boys’, who are hellbent on destroying those superheroes who abuse their superpowers. The ragtag team is led by the disgruntled Billy Butcher who is after Vought’s most powerful superhero team ‘The Seven’ led by the indestructible megalomaniac Homelander.
Aashram Season 3 (Streaming on MX Player)
Helmed by Prakash Jha, the show’s plot follows a deceitful preacher Baba Nirala (Bobby Deol), who runs an Aashram in the fictional town of Kashipur. His devotees, including a lower caste woman Pammi, blindly follow the former conman. But when a skeleton is found in the adjacent forest, all clues point towards the Aashram. Will the Aashram and its illegal activities be exposed considering the self-proclaimed Godman has now become more power-hungry and fearless than ever?
K.G.F: Chapter 2 (Non-Rent Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)
It’s the second installment of Prashanth Neel’s 2018 directorial film K.G.F: Chapter 1’. Kannada star Yash reprises his role as the top-notch assassin Rocky who masqueraded as a laborer in the titular Kolar Gold Fields in the first film. The sequel showcases Rocky’s story arc as the new KGF boss and his fight against a formidable adversary and the government. KGF-2 also features Sanjay Dutt as the antagonist Adheera, Raveena Tandon, and Prakash Raj in pivotal roles.
Jungle Cry (Streaming on Lionsgate Play)
Helmed by Sagar Ballary, the sports drama film is based on a true story and follows a group of twelve orphaned and underprivileged tribal kids from the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences in Orissa. The plot focuses on the glorious victory of the underdogs at the Under-14 Rugby World Cup tournament and that too with just four months of training. The film features Abhay Deol in an important role.
Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam (Streaming on Aha Video)
The film’s plot revolves around a 30-plus man named Arjun (played by Vishwak Sen), who runs a money lending business and wants to get married but is unable to find a bride. After some time, he finally gets engaged to a pretty woman named Madhavi (Ruksaar Dhillon). But his happiness is short-lived when the bride suddenly goes missing.
The Eken (Streaming on Hoichoi)
Directed by Joydeep Mukherjee, the mystery thriller movie follows the adventures of a Bengali detective named Ekendra (Anirban Chakrabarti), who travels to Darjeeling where he gets involved in a missing photograph case of a popular actress while he also works on a murder investigation.
Belfast (Streaming on BookMyShow)
Helmed by Kenneth Branagh, the Oscar-winning film follows the journey of a young boy named Buddy, who finds himself in the midst of a violent sectarian clash in 1969 Belfast which forces his own family to decide whether to leave the place or stay back.
Physical Season-2 (Streaming on Apple TV Plus)
The comedy drama series features Rose Bryne as Sheila, a struggling homemaker who finds a way to empower and turn around her unexciting life. Her story arc continues in the second season where she must face professional rivalry in the fitness industry while concurrently dealing with her personal relationships with her husband Danny (Rory Scovel), who is wary of his wife’s newfound success.
The Perfect Mother (Streaming on Netflix)
After learning that her daughter Anya has been accused of a murder, her determined mother Helene Berg travels from Berlin to Paris in an attempt to prove her daughter’s innocence. She takes the help of her former lover and lawyer Vincent. As the investigation proceeds, Helene begins to doubt whether her daughter is really innocent or guilty of the crime.
Interceptor (Streaming on Netflix)
The military action drama revolves around a hardened Army Captain JJ Collins, who races against time to prevent a deadly attack masterminded by a former military intelligence officer. She must use her very particular set of skills against the terrorists while stationed at the remote base in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
Floor is Lava Season-2 (Streaming on Netflix)
In the reality competition show, the new set of competing players are required to overcome several obstacles while avoiding contact with the lava that is flowing below them. The new season features a slippery volcano which the contestants need to climb in order to win the battle.
Doctor Lawyer Season-1 (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar)
The South Korean series revolves around a highly skilled former surgeon Han Yi-han, who becomes a lawyer after losing his medical license following a botched-up surgery with no fault of his. He teams up with a public prosecutor and they punish the wrongdoers in the medical field while also defending the innocent victims.
Hollywood Stargirl (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar)
Helmed by Julia Hart, the romantic comedy drama movie follows the titular protagonist Stargirl Caraway (Grace VanderWaal), who relocates to L.A. after her mother is recruited as a costume designer for a film project. The movie’s plot revolves around Stargirl’s relationship with various people including a musician, a neighbour, and aspiring filmmakers.
No Way Out (Streaming on Saina Play)
It’s a survival thriller film which follows the life of David, an NRI returnee who is going through a severe financial crisis amidst the lockdown. Owing to immense pressure, the debt-ridden and helpless man decides to take an extreme step. But things do not go as planned and the protagonist is soon struck in another tricky situation.
