Friday is invariably an exciting day for OTT viewers and today is no exception. Some eagerly anticipated Indian and foreign films and series have already been or will be released today as well on various Indian OTT platforms. For this article, we have compiled a list of the top streaming titles (in no particular order) that are already out or will be out on Indian OTT platforms today.
Trial By Fire (Streaming on Netflix)
The web series is based on the tragic Uphaar Cinema fire incident which happened in June 1997 in the posh South Delhi area. The story follows Neelam and Shekhar Krishnamoorthy (played by Rajshri Deshpande and Abhay Deol), the parents whose two children were unfortunate victims of the tragic incident. The series focuses on how the parents fight for the justice of their kids for around twenty-four long years.
Drishyam 2 (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video – Non-Rent)
Helmed by Abhishek Pathak, the sequel takes place around seven years after the first film. The plot revolves around Vijay Salgaonkar’s (Ajay Devgn) family, who is still living under the fear of the impending consequences of the police investigation for the senior cop’s (Tabu) missing son. When the investigation comes back again to haunt his family with a new cop (Akshaye Khanna) on their trail, Vijay tries to deal with the situation with his sharp intellect to protect his family once again.
Hunters Season-2 (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)
Set in 1977 New York City, the alternate-history drama series follows a secret and disparate group of Nazi hunters led by a Holocaust survivor Meyer Offerman (played by Al Pacino). It also features Logan Lerman as a maths genius who is recruited by Meyer to fight the Nazis hiding in America. The show’s second and final season will focus on the team’s mission to track and eliminate Adolf Hitler, who is apparently hiding in South America.
Mukundan Unni Associates (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar)
The dark comedy movie follows the story of a young and ambitious advocate named Mukundan Unni (played by Vineet Sreenivasan), whose area of specialization is accident insurance claims. With no moral boundaries, the lawyer can go to any lengths to become rich and successful.
Servant Season-4 (Streaming on Apple TV+)
M. Night Shyamalan’s psychological horror series follows a couple living in Philadelphia who hire a nanny named Leanne to take care of their son Jericho. But soon after weird things begin to happen as there is much more to the story than meets the eye.
Head Bush (Streaming on Zee5)
Based on Agni Sridhar’s autobiography ‘My Days in the Underworld’, the political crime action film features Dhananjaya in the titular role of Jayaraj aka Head Bush. The protagonist is given the opportunity to become the leader of the Indira Brigade, and this creates disruption amongst underworld gang members.
Break Point (Streaming on Netflix)
The tennis-based docuseries delves upon some of the world’s most talented tennis players and will focus on the Australian Open, Grand Slam, and Madrid Open and other gruelling tournaments across the globe. When some legendary players have reached their careers’ zenith, the young generation is ready to take the mantle forward with one common goal: become the topmost player.
Ballabhpurer Roopkotha (Streaming on Hoichoi)
Based on Badal Sarkar’s 1954 play of the same name, the horror comedy movie features Satyam Bhattacharya in the role of Bhupati Ray, an indebted successor of an erstwhile affluent family and the present owner of a decrepit mansion. Circumstances force him to sell the property, but the deal is amusingly interfered by his ancestor’s ghost.
Dog Gone (Streaming on Netflix)
Inspired by a true story, the movie follows the story of a dog named Gonker, who is lost somewhere in the Appalachian trail. In a race against time, his owner Fielding Marshall and his father must embark on a journey to find their beloved dog, who cannot survive without medication.
Thattassery Koottam (Streaming on Zee5)
The comedy drama film revolves around the story of a goldsmith’s nephew Sanju (played by Arjun Ashokan), who falls in love with an affluent jeweller’s daughter Athira. But the goings-on take a drastic turn after an unfortunate incident occurs in his life.
Sky Rojo Season-3 (Streaming on Netflix)
The Spanish dark comedy series follows the story of three prostitutes and friends Coral, Wendy, and Gina, who embark on a perilous journey and are on the run from their pimp and his gang members.
Farzi Mushaira Season-3 (Streaming on Amazon miniTV)
Watch the talented stand-up comedian Zakir Khan entertain you in a unique way by way of shayaris but with an amusing twist. Joining him in the third season are some popular names such as Tanmay Bhat, Hussain Dalal, Richa Chadha, Kritika Kamra, and Prachi Desai amongst others.
Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend (Streaming on Lionsgate Play)
The film features Frank Grillo in the titular role of the legendary automobile designer Ferruccio Lamborghini and delves upon how he initially developed tractors to his foray into military vehicles and finally designing the iconic Lamborghini cars and how he planned to beat his competitor Enzo Ferrari in a Grand Prix race.
The Test Season-2 (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)
The four-part cricket-based documentary series revolves around the Australian men’s cricket team and focuses on the happening after the departures of Paine and Langer and the team’s efforts to be the top cricket team of the world.
Mister Mummy (Streaming on Netflix)
Directed by Shaad Ali, the comedy movie revolves around a couple Amol and Guglu (played by Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh) with disparate viewpoints about children, whose lives take an interesting turn after both somehow become pregnant.
