Toy Story 5 Release Date Announced, Moana Postponed For A Year!

The official release dates for the fifth installment of the Toy Story franchise is out now. The movie will hit the theaters on the 19th of May in 2026. Bob Iger had planned to reboot the popular film series after the company failed miserably with the spin-off Buzz Lightyear in 2022. It was a disappointment at the box office and a sequel to the latest mainline film seemed to be a nice option to revive the franchise.

‘Toy Story’ premiered in 1995 with Tom Hanks, Tim Allen as voice actors and John Lasseted as the director. The movie went on to be highly popular with kids and teens. Two more movies came on in 1999 and 2010. The fourth part came out in 2019 and made a whopping one billion dollars at the box office. It is almsot sure that Toy Story 5 sure to make as big a noise as the fourth one.

Along with it, the live action Moana movie has been postponed. Thomas Kail helms the movie and Dwayne Johnson reprises his role as Maui. The movie was previously slated for June 27th of 2025 but now it will be releasing on the 10th of July on 2026. Moana 2, the sequel of the animated version, is releasing soon in theaters. It will be hitting theaters this November only. So the makers have decided to give a safe and sound window between the live-action film and Moana 2.

Along with these two titles, tge Star Wars movie The Mandalorian & Grogu is also set for release in 2026.
