After the roaring success of its Malayalam direct to OTT releases ‘Purusha Pretham’ and ‘Aavasavyuham: The Arbit Documentation of An Amphibian Hunt’, SonyLIV has lined up yet another buzzy Malayalam film for direct release on its platform. Titled ‘1001 Nunakal‘, the Malayalam film has decided to skip theatres and release directly on SonyLIV.
SonyLIV revealed the trailer and release date for ‘1001 Nunakal’ this evening. The movie will premiere on SonyLIV on 18th August, 2023. For those who don’t know Malayalam, the title of the movie translates as Thousand And One Lies in English. The film is written and directed by Thamar K V, and co-written by Hashim Sulaiman. Neha Nair and Yakzan have composed the music for ‘1001 Nunakal’.
Malayalam film ‘1001 Nunakal’ boasts an ensemble cast, compromising actors like Vishnu Agasthya, Remya Suresh, Shamla Hamza, Niiniin Kassim, Zhinz Shan, Noufal Rahman, Vidhya Vijaykumar, Sooraj K Nambiar, Rashmi K Nair, Sudeep Koshy, Sajin Ali, Sudheesh Scaria, and Anusha Shyam, among others.
The story of ‘1001 Nunakal’ centres on a couple, who is caught amidst the tragedy of their home burning down in a fire, and left with no place to go. Their friend Vinay grants them refuge in his grand mansion. As it is his 10th wedding anniversary the next day, Vinay asks the couple to stay over for one more night to celebrate his wedding anniversary, along with several other close friends. Soon things go awry, as a truth and dare game turns into a shocking exposé of hidden secrets, challenging the very core of their relationships and intertwining their lives with lies.
