After months of eager speculation and chatter of, ‘will it, won’t it’, Nishabdham has finally decided to skip theatres. The much-awaited R Madhavan – Anushka Shetty starrer arrives on Amazon Prime on 2nd October. The just released trailer has only served to increase the anticipation for the movie sky high!
Anushka Shetty stars as Sakshi, a deaf and mute artist, who falls in love with a world-famous violinist/musician Anthony (R Madhavan). Trouble brews in their paradise when a vacation they take in Seattle turns into a nightmare. Not believing in supernatural stuff, the couple chooses a supposedly haunted villa to stay in. Horrifying events occur at the villa (unfortunately, the trailer doesn’t show us what), and Sakshi ends up injured in hospital.
The trailer layers on the suspense as every second ticks by. Every character acts suspicious – Anthony, Sakshi’a close friend Sonali (Shalini Pandey), a wild-life photographer (Subbaraju) and even the detective in charge of the investigations (Michael Madsen). Sakshi uncovers startling facts about Sonali, which threaten to shatter Sakshi’s peace of mind.
The movie is mounted on a larger than life scale. The visuals are breathtaking, and Shaneil Deo’s cinematography is stunning. The terrifying bits in the trailer get your skin crawling and you break out in goosebumps. Anushka Shetty and Madhavan hold the viewer’s gaze whenever they appear in the frame. Anushka looks sweetly innocent in her deaf and mute avatar. Madhavan’s character has distinctly grey shades, making it an intriguing role.
Nishabdham stars Anushka Shetty, Madhavan, Anjali, Michael Madsen, Subbaraju, Shalini Pandey and Srinivas Avasarala in pivotal roles.
Nishabdham has been produced by Kona Venkat, TG Vishwa Prasad and Vivek Kuchibotla. The screenplay has been written by Kona Venkat, out of a story by Hemant Madhukar. Madhukar has also directed the movie.
Nishabdham premieres on Amazon Prime Video on 2nd October in Telugu, in
Tamil as ‘Silence’, and also a Malayalam dubbed version.
