Amazon Prime Video dropped in the trailer for ‘C U Soon‘ and it will leave you perplexed and thinking what might have actually happened. Produced by Fahadh Faasil and his wife Nazriya Nazim, this Malayalam film will premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video on 1st September, 2020.
The trailer begins with a goofy sneaky good morning video call between Jimmy (Roshan Mathew) and Anumol Sebastian (Darshana Rajendran) that gets interrupted when someone at Anu’s end calls out for her. After days of on and off video calls Jimmy proposes to Anu online and this becomes a cause of concern for his mother who asks for his cousin Kevin’s (Fahadh Faasil) help.
Interestingly, Kevin, who is in Kerala, finds out that there is a lot of mystery around Anu’s whereabouts. Moreover, things start turning haywire when Anu is seen injured and distressed in her video calls with Jimmy and later sends a recorded video message as her last message to him.
Jimmy, who is not in India, asks for Kevin’s help to locate Anu after she goes missing mysteriously. Kevin then uses his technical prowess to help his cousin get out of trouble that he has gotten himself into with the authorities in a foreign land.
The trailer leaves the question hanging in viewer’s minds whether Jimmy or someone related to him is responsible for whatever happened to Anu and what actually did happen to her. Did she commit suicide or is there something more than what meets the eye?
For a film shot entirely on phone, the trailer looks very gripping and keeps you on the edge of your seat till the end. With Fahadh Faasil, Roshan Mathew and Darshana Rajendran giving their best with limited resources this one looks pretty promising. Directed and edited by Mahesh Narayanan, catch C U Soon exclusively on Amazon Prime Video from 1st September, 2020.
