As part of the original series of shows released, called Hotstar Specials, Disney+Hotstar had launched a thrilling new web series called Hostages last year, for their new campaign. They have now launched the release date of the second season of Hostages in their new trailer, with another hostage situation but with a twist. This time we will be rooting for the hostage taker(s) and not their hostages.
Ronit Roy returns as ex-SP Prithvi Singh IPS, also an unmasked hostage taker, who has taken CM Khushwant Lal Handa hostage. With Mohan Kapur’s Subramaniam dropping in some exposition (also a hostage), we have a basic idea of what is going to happen this season. After the semi-ominous ending for the CM at the end of season one, season two doesn’t look much better for him.
The CM and his security head have been taken as hostages (as mentioned earlier) into the abandoned building by the ex-SP with his wife, who is physically suffering due to some medical complications, joining them. The police have come to know about the hostage situation and have covered the house in all four directions to prevent Prithvi from escaping. With no idea of what is happening inside, the police are getting ready to negotiate with the hostage taker, Prithvi .
We are also introduced to some new characters who shrouded in mystery but some have sinister motives. After working to kill the CM, they have found out that he is alive and their plans for taking over the state are about to get ruined. How will they play a part in this drama-series?
Hostages is based off an Israeli show of the same name with Ayelet Zurer starring in the series. The second season of the Indian version is set to come out on Disney+Hotstar on Wednesday, 9th September 2020. Watch the trailer down below.
