After releasing several original shows this year, Eros Now is gearing up to release its first full fledged Hindi Original film, titled Halahal. Murder and crime are abiding subjects that make eminently watchable content, and Halahal is no different, by the looks of the trailer of the Eros Now original that dropped today.
A middle class doctor’s medical student daughter is found burnt to death, and her college, Ghaziabad Medical College, passes it off as a suicide. But the father (Sachin Khedekar) is not convinced, and is determined to get to the bottom of her death which, according to him, is murder. He recruits a money-minded but clean cop (Barun Sobti) to help him unravel the truth of his daughter’s death.
The events in the trailer make it clear that Halahal will be an action and suspense-packed crime thriller. As the two truth-seekers dig deeper into the murky events surrounding the apparent suicide, they are threatened, beaten up brutally, and set up to be bumped off.
Barun Sobti has taken on a distinctly different avatar in Halahal. His Delhi dialect, kickass attitude and savvy chutzpah is bang on. Sachin Khedekar too goes beyond his comfort zone and into uncharted territory as the single-minded father. If the trailer is anything to go by, Halahal is on its way to being a gripping watch.
Halahal has been produced by Zeishan Quadri and Priyanka Bassi of Friday To Friday Entertainment, Shalini Chaudhary and Eros Now. It has been directed by Randeep Jha, and written by Gibran Noorani and Zeishan Quadri. Incidentally, Quadri is the writer of Gangs Of Wasseypur.
Halahal premieres on Eros Now on 21st September. Have a look at the trailer of Halahal.
