Hoichoi TV has released the trailer of its upcoming web series, the action, thriller and romance drama called Ekattor. And the trailer promises everything that a gripping story must deliver – fast-paced narrative, compelling action sequences, an element of suspense and thrill, poignant love and loads of danger-laden moments. Ekattor, going by what one can see in the trailer, has all of the above, making it a series worth waiting for.
When we first found out that the title of the show was ‘Ekattor’, we assumed that it was a series chronicling the 1971 India-Pakistan war that had led to the formation of Bangladesh as a new country. But we couldn’t have been further from the truth. The series is definitely set in the backdrop of the 1971 War, yes; but a war chronicle it certainly isn’t.
Ekattor is a story of crime, criminals and love; in which the murky world of crime plays tango with the even murkier world of dirty politics, with love coming into the mix to create even more confusion. Both countries are in a state of bewilderment in the changed political climate — obviously the best time for opportunists to move in for the kill and make the most of the befuddling situation. And then, love blooms in the midst of all the happenings, turning the narrative of the lead on its head.
The production values of the series appear to be high, from the little we see of them in the 2-minute trailer. The actors have been chosen with care, and they seem to fit their roles like a glove. Mostofa Monowar, Iresh Zaker, Nushrat Tisha, Rafiath Rashid, Tariq Anam Khan, Shatabdi Wadud and Deepanwita Martin play the primary roles in the series, while Tanim Noor directs.
Ekattor premieres on Hoichoi TV on 26th March. Have a look at the trailer of the series here –
