Hoichoi TV had released Paanch Phoron, its anthology series of five love stories, on Valentine’s Day last year. The success of the web show last year prompted the exclusively Bengali content streaming platform to renew the show for a second season. Paanch Phoron 2 will keep its date with Valentine’s Day, the day of love, just like its predecessor did with last year’s Valentine’s Day.
Hoichoi TV has just released the trailer of the upcoming show, which offers fleeting glimpses into the five short stories of love and longing that make up Paanch Phoron 2. Deriving its name from the fragrant mix of five spices called paanch phoron which is extensively used in Bengali cuisine, each lending its own special taste to the concoction, Paanch Phoron 2 also has five stories by five different directors, each with its own unique storyline.
Sudipto Roy’s directs a story titled ‘Afternoon Audition’, which has a young upcoming actress hoping to land an acting gig on the back of a successful audition. ‘Donor’ by Nurul Alam Atique is about a boy and a girl who share the relationship of donor and donee – poignant and intimate. Chandril Bhattacharya directs the short story called ‘Praay Kafka’, Giasuddin Selim directs ‘Three Kisses’, and lastly, Arko Ganguli directs the segment titled ‘Khworkuto’.
The five stories feature actors such as Swastika Mukherjee Sohini Sarkar, Ritika Pal, Sourav Chakraborty, Amrita Chattopadhyay, Zinat Sanu Swagata, Monir Khan, Yash Rohan, Tareq Anam Khan and Farhana Mithu in crucial roles.
In keeping with its theme of love, Paanch Phoron will release on 14th February 2020, to keep its date with Valentine’s Day.
