Trailer Talk: Know The Unknown In SonyLIV’s All New Original ‘Avrodh’

By Binged Bureau - Jul 10, 2020 @ 04:07 pm

trailer-talk-know-the-unknown-in-sonylivs-all-new-original-avrodhSonyLIV recently unveiled the trailer of its upcoming original web series ‘Avrodh : The Siege Within‘ and it looks quite thrilling. The series is an adaptation of a chapter from the book “India’s Most Fearless” by Rahul Singh and Shiv Aroor. It is based on the 2016 surgical strike operation by Indian Army and will premier on SonyLIV on July 31.

The trailer begins with Neeraj Kabi, playing the role of National Security Advisor, telling that history is not created overnight and most often many aspects of it do not reach the people. He further adds that every Indian knows about the surgical strike but the nation needs to know the real story behind it.

In the following scenes we see how the diplomatic and military preparation are carried out for the strike. Amit Sadh is seen as the commanding officer of the team set to lead the attack. Neeraj Kabi further adds that the world needs to know that India is not only the land of Mahatma Gandhi but also of Subhash Chandra Bose.

While the series has been compared to Vicky Kaushal starrer superhit film ‘Uri : The Surgical Strike’ since it was announced, it is different from the film. The film was more about the execution of the operation on the field whereas the series also reveals the diplomatic process and the planning that went behind it. The series promises to showcase a different and mostly unknown aspect of the 2016 surgical strike that the Indian Army conducted to destroy the terror camps across the border.

On September 18, 2016, 19 Indian Army soldiers were killed following an attack by four armed militants. The group was traced back to Jaish-e-Mohammad, a Pakistan-based terrorist organisation, although Pakistan denied any involvement. 11 days later, the Indian Army conducted surgical strikes to neutralise terrorist teams, who, according to information they received, were ready to infiltrate Jammu and Kashmir and attack various metro cities in India.

Sharing the trailer, Amit Sadh wrote on Twitter, “I dedicate this to u, Dad. For u & all Indians, I bring to u #Avrodh. We heard about it, read about it, & saw things, but do we know everything? Was it as simple as it seemed? Or did this require strategic planning, precise execution, & daring decision-making? I was truly amazed!”

Apart from Amit Sadh and Neeraj Kabi, Avrodh also stars Madhurima Tuli, Darshan Kumar, Anant Mahadevan, Vikram Gokhale and Arif Zakaria. The series will begin streaming on SonyLIV from July 31.
