Andhaghaaram is again in the talks since it was announced that the thriller will be releasing on Netflix. It was out of the blue announcement made by the makers as no update regarding the film was there for almost 5 months. Now since the release date of the movie is getting nearer, Netflix has become aware of the hype around the movie. And to maintain the hype, Netflix has released another trailer for the movie. Here’s let’s talk about the second trailer.
The trailer starts off with Selvam, a blind conjurer, and his initial days of learning to write. He is asked by a man that will be able to clear his exams this time. We see that Selvam takes a job as a medium to communicate with the dead and the alive. He starts to deliver the messages, spirits say to their respective owners. Naturally, no one believes him and he is shunted by many. While many others advise him to stay away from these things. A specific line resonates in the trailer which loosely translates to:-
Police Officer:- You know nothing about darkness Selvam!
Selvam:- Darkness is the only thing I Know Of.
On the other hand, a washed up cricketer named Vinoth starts to feel crazy in his lonely life. He continuously feels some sort of presence in his room and is getting anxious about it. Slowly and gradually he starts to panic and loses his sanity. Determined to find the source of his condition, he desperately tries to find the truth and for that, he tries to contact Selvam.
Another story is of a psychiatrist who has suffered a tragedy in his life due to his last actions. He has just been discharged from the hospital and despite the doctors, advice visits the same place where the incident happens to relive it.
The trailer looks intriguing and has shot up the audience’s excitement for it. With big names associated with it, the hype around it is guaranteed. But nothing to take away from the trailer. Trailer 2 looks interesting than its predecessor and it only increases the excitement for the film.
Special mention for the BGM of the trailer which perfectly sets up the tone for the movie. With the slow and powerful buildup, music is one of the best ways to create tension. It seems like the music, the movie too is going to be intriguing. Pradeep Kumar’s music deserves a special mention.
