Trailer Talk: Netflix’s Ludo Is A Madcap Caper That’ll Light Up Your Diwali!

This festive season, Netflix is all set to woo viewers to its platform, with the Diwali release of Ludo, the glittering jewel in its catch of direct to digital Bollywood releases. Ludo is a highly anticipated release among viewers, and the trailer that just dropped on Netflix this afternoon confirms all the reasons why.

Ludo is an anthology that showcases the ‘Butterfly Effect’. It features four different stories that take place separately but its characters are connected to each other in unusual ways and unavoidable circumstances. Abhishek Bachchan is hilarious as the petty gangster, carrying out a kidnapping for the first time. The little girl he’s kidnapped for ransom is more badass than him. Rajkummar Rao is a waiter with a Mithun Chakraborty hangover. He’s pulled into a dangerous mission of helping a jailbird break out of jail due to his attraction to tha character played by Fatima Sana Sheikh.

Aditya Roy Kapoor plays a guy who resorts to subterfuge to impress his girl, played by Sanya Malhotra. He pretends to be a doctor of ‘Mughal art and architecture’. The most hilarious of the lot is Pankaj Tripathi as a heartless gang-lord, with murder and mayhem on his mind, but who ends up with a broken neck. The youngsters, led by Rohit Saraf, lend a commendable hand.

The trailer looks promising, telling us that Ludo on Netflix is gonna be one helluva mad caper. What we find intriguing and can’t wait to find out is how the four stories connect together in the end.

Ludo features a fantastic ensemble of actors – Abhishek Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao, Aditya Roy Kapur, Pankaj Tripathi, Fatima Sana Sheikh and Sanya Malhotra, along with Inayat Verma, Rohit Saraf, Shalini Vatsa, Asha Negi and Malayalam actress/presenter Pearle Maaney. It is directed by Anurag Basu, and cast in the anthology mould of his earlier hit film, Life In A Metro.

Ludo is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Divya Khosla Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Anurag Basu and Tani Basu under the banners of T-Series and Anurag Basu Productions.
