As fans across the globe wait eagerly for Netflix’s star-studded film ‘The Devil All The Time‘ to premiere, the streaming giant has upped the ante with the just-released trailer of the movie. And the trailer is evocative and unnerving enough to whet their appetites and have them salivating in anticipation of the upcoming suspense and horror thriller. Yes, the trailer evokes all these sentiments, and more!
The Antonio Campos directed feature ‘The Devil All the Time’ is based on Donald Ray Pollock’s acclaimed and award-winning novel of the same name. The film is set in the town of Knockemstiff, Ohio. It covers the period between World War II and the Vietnam War.
The film is full of characters that are deviant, corrupt, broken, sinister or outright evil. Robert Pattinson grabs our immediate attention as a priest with questionable morals. Sebastian Stan plays a corrupt sheriff who cannot be trusted. Riley Keough and Jason Clarke play a couple that is hiding a grim secret. Caught in the middle is Tom Holland’s orphan character, who’s gifted his late father’s gun on his birthday. He realises that it is a fight to the finish to keep himself and his loved ones safe from the moral bankruptcy and sinister goings-on around him.
The trailer shows rabid evil taking place in the tiny town in Ohio. Horrific undertones give a layer of chilling foreboding to the trailer. The Devil All The Time is produced by Jake Gyllenhaal. Interestingly, the author of the source novel, Donald Ray Pollock, acts as narrator of the movie – a coup of sorts.
Besides the aforementioned, The Devil All The Time features an eclectic cast consisting of Eliza Scanlan, Bill Skarsgård, Mia Wasikowska, Harry Melling, Haley Bennett and Pokey LaFarge.
The Devil All The Time premieres on Netflix on 16th September. Have a look at the trailer here –
