Netflix dropped a new extended trailer for ‘You’ Season 2, and it gives out even creepier vibes than the first one, released last week.
Joe (Penn Badgley) leaves behind his past to make a fresh start in a new city, Los Angeles, and under a new name – he calls himself Will. The trailer starts with Joe saying in the voice-over, “It’s hard to have a fresh start when the past is on your mind”.
And in Season 2, his past catches up with him in LA in the form of his ex-girlfriend Candace (Ambyr Childers), who had escaped alive from the mayhem of the last season, aa shown in its finale episode.
Candace is determined to out Joe, who suffers from the peculiar trait of murdering those he loves, or so it seems. Candace makes life difficult for Joe in LA, and his fresh start plan goes out of the window.
He’s got a new love in his life, a pretty chef named Love, (Victoria Pedretti, of Haunting of Hill House fame), and he’s back to his stalking, controlling ways with her. The trailer shows blood-spattered windows panes, Joe with sharp weapons and bloodied hands, and a lot of gore and creepiness, pointing to the fact that he’s not about to mend his ways yet.
The two and a half minute trailer gives ample taste of what to expect in Season 2, and the premise is quite compelling.
You, Season 2 drops on Netflix on 26th December. In the meanwhile, check out its trailer –
