The emergence of the digital platform is giving wings to the imagination. Many hitherto unimaginable stories are narrated in this space in India, now. Here is one such example from Zee5.
Phone-A-Friend on the surface is a regular romantic comedy. We have a geeky lead who is unable to find a girl in his life. There is no romance and people are not socially connected to him. How his life changes with external intervention, is something we have seen from the days of Chhoti Si Baat made way back in 1976.
Well, Phone-A-Friend is similar to the above basic line only with one major sci-fi twist. The external intervention is provided by phone. Yes, a ‘phone’ literally comes alive and guides our hero to become a confident man and win the problem of life. To know what are they, and if the ‘phone’ creates a rift, we have to watch the series.
