Trailer Talk: Voot Select’s Crackdown Is One Helluva Solid Actioner!!

Whoa, Voot Select just dropped the trailer of its upcoming thriller, Crackdown; and man, what a badass one it is! If you’ve watched the teaser of the show, which was released a few days ago, then let us tell you — it was as tame as a new-born puppy. The trailer of Crackdown is the real deal – raw, brutal and full-on action! Blasts, fast-paced action set pieces, chases, gun battles, a mole within the secret unit Directorate of Operations (DO) — all of it packed into an explosive 2-minute trailer will blow your mind away!

Saqib Saleem’s Riyaz Pathan takes on the might of a sinister terrorist gang that wants to lay down so many bodies with its latest destructive act that ”it will be impossible for any international organisation to correctly report the number”. Tariq (Ankur Bhatia), leader of the terrorist entity, is the one who makes the proclamation.

Shriya Pilgaonkar as Divya Shirodkar is an enigma – is she a patriot or a traitor – we’ll know only when the series drops on Voot Select. Iqbal Khan as Zorawar Karla, is Riyaz’s colleague in the DO, and equally focused and determined. Waluscha De Sousa plays his wife Garima Karla. Rajesh Tailang gives a good turn as the DO boss, Ashwini Rao. But it is Saqib Saleem who is the most compelling element of Crackdown. Bones crunch, heads are blown off, as he shows off his mettle.

The dialogues in the trailer are brilliant – quotable and memorable. The trailer has the formidable stamp of Apoorva Lakhia all over it. The director of such blockbusters as Shootout At Lokhandwala and Ek Ajnabee, has gone all out with his special touch of action and mayhem.
