‘Trial By Fire’ Actress Gears Up For Social Thriller Film ‘Privacy’

Indian actress Rajshri Deshpande, who is fresh off the heels after her riveting portrayal as a distressed mother in the Uphaar fire tragedy-based Netflix series ‘Trial by Fire’, is gearing up for her next acting project – a social thriller movie interestingly titled ‘Privacy’.

Set amidst the backdrop of the slums of Mumbai, ‘Privacy’ features Rajshri Deshpande in the role of an operator named Rupali, who works at the Mumbai surveillance command and control center (a CCTV room). Burdened with a dark past, the protagonist begins to investigate a robbery and murder case which takes place during her duty hours. But in doing that, she apparently breaks some rules.

‘Privacy’ has been helmed by Sudeep Kanwal and it’s his full-length feature film directorial debut. The movie is set to be showcased at Korea’s Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN 2023), which is slated to happen between 29th June to 9th July. However, as of now, the film’s precise release details in India are presently not confirmed. Whether the movie will be released in theatres first or directly on an OTT platform is also not currently known.

‘Privacy’ is a film which would explore the notion of surveillance and access of data by big companies and might also focus on the moral dilemmas associated with the same.
