Ever since the theatrical release of Luv Ranjan’s romantic comedy movie ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ on 8th March, fans have been waiting with bated breath for the film’s OTT release date. As you all know, the digital rights for the movie were acquired by Netflix. And now, all the speculations about the film’s OTT premiere date on Netflix have been laid to rest because Netflix has just announced that ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ will be made available for streaming from 3rd May, that is, from tomorrow onwards.
The romantic comedy movie ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ follows the story of an affluent man Rohan (Ranbir Kapoor), who also works as a break-up consultant. During a leisure trip to Spain, he meets a woman named Tinni (Shraddha Kapoor), and they fall in love with each other. But the story takes an interesting turn when the woman begins to have second thoughts about their romantic relationship. It has been directed by Luv Ranjan (of ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’ fame). It also features Dimple Kapadia and Anubhav Singh Bassi in important roles.
‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ was a theatrical success and grossed over an impressive Rs.219 crore at the box-office globally. However, the movie received rather mixed reviews by critics.
Now, it would be interesting to see whether ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ can replicate its massive theatrical success and attract OTT audiences in a big way on the small screen as well, after its release on Netflix. We think that considering the presence of Ranbir Kapoor and his fan following and Luv Ranjan’s filmmaking style, the movie is bound to be a superhit on OTT too.
