Social media was buzzing high yesterday when Ranbir Kapoor–Shraddha Kapoor starrer romantic comedy finally got its title! The Luv Ranjan directorial didn’t have a title till date, since January 2021, when the film started rolling except a release date on 8th March, 2023. Makers dropped an announcement video yesterday for the film that goes by ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’. Pretty much in tradition for Luv Ranjan films and productions, this film also has a quirky and goofy title. Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar releases on 8th March 2023.
Soon after the video released, social media blew up as this film sees Ranbir and Shraddha paired opposite each other for the first time and ofcourse, it looks like a goofy romantic comedy with quintessential bollywood ingredients. Soon after the video, makers dropped a poster that revealed logos of digital and satellite partners of the film. The digital rights of Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar is with Netflix India, while satellite rights are with Sony. This confirms that the film will stream on Netflix India post theatrical window.
Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar is Ranbir Kapoor’s first romantic comedy after the 2012 Ayan Mukerji directorial ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ and Shraddha Kapoor’s big screen release after Baaghi 3 (2020). The actress made a guest appearance in the song ‘Thumkeshwari’ from Bhediya (2022). The film is written by Luv Ranjan and Rahul Mody, and bankrolled by Luv Films nd T-Series Films. Besides Ranbir and Shraddha, the film stars Dimple Kapadia, Boney Kapoor and Anubhav Singh Bassi. The film is scheduled for theatrical release on 8 March 2023.
