Tuck Jagadish And Maestro: OTT Platforms With Ears On Ground, Good Sign!

Two prominent Telugu films – Nani’s Tuck Jagadish and Nithin’s Maestro have decided to take the Direct-to-OTT route despite the fact theaters have opened in both the Telugu states and the audience reception is more encouraging than anywhere in the world.

Maestro already had the trailer released and Disney + Hotstar announced the September 9th release for the film but a change is imminent now. But then, Amazon Prime Video had announced the release of Tuck Jagadish on September 10th. A clash of two notable films with big heroes on OTT is damaging as the clash on theaters.

Investing tens of Crores for the Direct-to-OTT releases, the opening day for the OTT Platform is crucial because there are chances of an increase in the subscriptions. If two films clash, the audience will tend to watch one and postpone the other for another day. In such a scenario, there can be a problem with piracy as well for the postponed film. The social media buzz is also divided in case of a clash.

So, a clash on OTT is as bad as a clash in theaters. Buzz is that Disney + Hotstar has decided to postpone Maestro to a later date to avoid a clash. OTT platforms having ears on the ground is a good sign for the OTT industry.
