TVF Joins Hand With ZEE5: What It Means For TVF’s 10 Million Fans

Since Permanent Roommates in 2014, TVF (The Viral Fever) has created a lot of buzz in the OTT and web industries. And very recently with the success of the latest show TVF Aspirants, the success and popularity of the YouTube channel started by TVF Media Labs, is touching sky high.

Now, to take their popularity to a new level the TVF team just joined hands with Zee5 to stream their shows via the ZEE5 platform. Earlier the contents of TVF were available for free in YouTube and now with the growing popularity of the channel, it’s only logical to take it further into a commercial model.

Now what exactly does it mean for the subscribers of ZEE5? As part of the deal, the subscribers of ZEE5 will now be able to stream all the existing seasons of TVF shows like Permanent Roommates, Tech Conversations with Dad, Awkward Conversations, PA-Gals, Inmates, Weekends, The Insiders, Zeroes and others. Apart from those, ZEE5 will also feature the upcoming seasons of TVF shows such as Pitchers Season 2, Tripling Season 3, Humorously Yours Season 3, and other titles like Engineering Girls Season 2 and The Aam Aadmi Family Season 4.

Earlier today, Manish Kalra, chief business officer, ZEE5 India stated in an interview that ZEE5’s focus for 2021 is entertainment inclusion, to ensure everybody, irrespective of the demographic and language preference, has the access to purposeful entertainment on ZEE5 and the association with TVF is definitely taking them further to that direction. Arunabh Kumar, founder, TVF on the other hand, said, “With this collaboration, we are looking forward to not just bringing the best of TVF on the platform but also creating memorable new seasons and shows that our viewers and fans can thoroughly enjoy”.

Now the question remains, as the contents of TVF channel were free on YouTube till now, they had reached 10 million subscribers, but now after getting associated with ZEE5, their content will definitely not be free and the fans of the channel will now have to take a subscription to watch the upcoming contents of TVF. Will it create any negative impact on the viewership of the contents of TVF? Only time can tell that!
