Twisted Metal Series OTT Release Date, Platform In India Revealed

The ‘Twisted Metal’ series, adapted from the popular PlayStation video game, has finally got a release date on Peacock TV. The Anthony Mackie headlined series premieres on Peacock in the US on 27th July, 2023. Peacock has just revealed the first full-fledged trailer for the series on its social media handles, along with an ‘explicit’ version of the trailer on YouTube.

In a piece of good news for digital viewers in India, fans of the video game in India won’t have to wait too long for the series to stream here. We at Binged have got you confirmed information on Twisted Metal streaming in India. Twisted Metal will stream in India at the same time as in the USA, which will be 28th July in India, owing to the 12-hour time difference between the two countries.

Twisted Metal will stream on SonyLIV in India, given the fact that the video game is PlayStation property, and the series is also created and produced by Sony Pictures Television. Interestingly, Jio Cinema has a content deal with Peacock in India. But guess, Twisted Metal being Sony’s IP, the series has landed on SonyLIV in India.

Twisted Metal is set in a post-apocalyptic world, and centres on a talkative milkman with amnesia, who is tasked with delivering a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland in order to survive. Along the way he picks up a badass car thief, and has run-ins with a murderous clown. Anthony Mackie plays the milkman, John Doe. Will Arnett voices the iconic clown, Sweet Tooth, while wrestler Samoa Joe plays him physically. Neve Campbell plays the lady whose package John must deliver, while Stephanie Beatriz plays the car thief. Richard Cabral, Mike Mitchell, Tahj Vaughans and Lou Beatty Jr. play supporting roles in Twisted Metal.

Michael Jonathan Smith (Cobra Kai) is the showrunner and writer of the ten-part action comedy series. He has also executive produced the series, along with Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who are also credited with the story. Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions and Universal Television produce the series.

The official synopsis for ‘Twisted Metal’ reads – “A high-octane action comedy about a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of a badass axe-wielding car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck.”
