‘Twisters’ First Reactions Hail Glen Powell Starrer As “Thrilling & Exciting”

Plenty of lucky critics and viewers have started to share their first reactions about the highly-anticipated sequel to the original 1996 Twister movie, Twisters, which premiered at London’s Leicester Square on July 8. It will arrive in theatres globally on July 19.

Helmed by Minari fame, Lee Isaac Chung, Twisters follows Kate Cooper (Daisy Edgar-Jones) and her friend Javi (Anthony Ramos) who give their all to test a revolutionary tornado tracking system. Soon, she encounters Tyler Owens (Glen Powell), a charming but cocky and reckless social media celebrity who is well-known for catching tornados. As the impact of storm season intensifies, Tyler, Kate, and their respective teams find themselves in a fight for their lives as multiple tornados start hovering over central Oklahoma.

Early reviews have praised Twisters’ entertaining storyline, gripping performances, impressive visuals, and the chemistry between Edgar-Jones and Powell. Brandon Perea’s performance as Boone has also received acclaim from many critics. The sequel provides plenty of thrilling and heartwarming moments to viewers.

Clocking in at 122 minutes, Twisters has been made on a humongous budget of $200 million. Lee Isaac Chung directed the sequel, with its story developed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick). Speaking of Top Gun, the real life Maverick Tom Cruise also attended the movie’s premiere.
