Twitter’s Online Thanksgiving Clash On Star Wars Is Bonkers!!!

By Binged Bureau - Nov 27, 2020 @ 11:11 am

Thanksgiving is a holiday celebrated by multiple countries around the globe but is primarily celebrated in many North and South American countries, which was popularized by America (Thanks! Hollywood). For the U.S., it is usually observed during every fourth Saturday of November every year. During every thanksgiving there is a notable twitter clash about Star Wars happening, and this year the war is for the best Star Wars movie.

Now normally this is a good topic to talk about during any time of the year, not just during thanksgiving. So we commend the dedication shown by twitterati to battle for what they think is the best Star Wars movie, even during this holiday. The only problem, the online war is between ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ and ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’. *facepalm*

Okay. ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ is a decent film. There are some epic scenes and brilliant editing and cinematography (but that is to be expected, because it is freaking STAR WARS). The scene where Darth Vader lights up a dark room with his lightsaber trapped Rebel soldiers was one of the most iconic Star Wars moments of all time, probably even one of THE BEST Darth Vader moments on screen. But there are still some dumb choices made in the script which could and should have been avoided but now we are stuck with. it will never be my favorite Star Wars movie, but it will always be a decent one.

On the other hand, ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ is a joke. Maybe harsh to some, but it is the reality. The last movie of the franchise puts us smack dab into a situation that doesn’t tell us how we got there. It is so ridiculous that we still don’t know answers to questions like “who were Rey’s parents?”, “How and why did Ben fall?” and was “Jar Jar Binks actually Snoke?” – you know what? I don’t want to know the answer to the last one. Sure there was epic cinematography and probably some of the best shots ever seen on Star Wars (again, this is BLOODY STAR WARS), but that screenplay was so bad, even ‘The Hurt Locker’ couldn’t diffuse that bomb from exploding.

Everyone has a right to their opinion even if they are wrong. According to me, the best Star Wars Movie is ‘Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back’ and that movie was made a decade before the person who wrote this article was even born. Sure, cinematography is important for a film but the script even more so and that is where the second installation of the film series excels. The line “No, I am your father” is so iconic, it is still used today more than 25 years later. That line made the universe of Star Wars more complex as well as spoke of an even sophisticated villain in Darth Vader. Anyone who has watched all “nine episodes” of Star Wars usually gets this.

To see the clash of bad twitter posts, check down below. You will probably be swayed by the enthusiastic posts and (admittedly) some brilliant editing, but if you use your common sense, you should snap out of it.
