Call it a studio’s slate or keeping Sony’s reputation in mind, name it the chopping board, it is being said that two new Spider-Man spin-offs are reportedly in the works. Keeping past ventures in mind, Sony is already developing Beyond The Spider-Verse, which has all the potential to be a big hit in general.
In a recent set of events, Sony’s Spider-Man was not only slapped hard by the fans and critics, it also failed to respond with a box-office run. Sony is misusing their ‘Never Give Up’ attitude in a wrong strategy.
The reports state that the upcoming two films will be animations and will help to build up the universe. Though the universe is fumbling, it isn’t stopping Sony from milking it.
One of the two films will focus on Spider-Woman and her character build-up, and the second one will be a villain-centric film. Though there are no further details about the second film.
Now, Sony also doesn’t really carry a good reputation when they are working on a villain or an anti-hero. Their Venom and Morbius films will vouch for that fact. But if the studio manages to learn from their previous mistakes, they might make something delicious after all.
Besides these hotchpotches, Sony is officially working on a live-action Miles Morales film and Spider-Man 4, which, in the future, can be Sony’s biggest asset.
