Two On-The-Back-Burner Shows – Zee5’s State of Siege and Its Alt Balaji Collab Series, Mentalhood, to Release…..Finally!

ZEE5 has finally declared release dates for two of its shows that had been left languishing for long on the back burner – State of Siege and Mentalhood. The latter is its show in collaboration with Ekta Kapoor’s Alt Balaji, and erstwhile Bollywood diva, Karisma Kapoor’s, digital debut.

The State of Siege, ZEE5’s ambitious show on the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks narrated from the perspective of the courageous counter-attack by India’s elite NSG Commandos, was initially supposed to premiere on 24th January 2020. But the date came and went — with no release of the series, and no reason for the no-show forthcoming from the OTT platform.

ZEE5 finally announced the new, much-delayed premiere date for the State of Siege today – the series will stream from 20th March 2020, and we’re still none the wiser as to the reason for delay.

Mentalhood is another show from the combined stables of ZEE5 and ALTBalaji that has been delayed beyond the sensible level. Wrapped up way back in June, and initially poised to enjoy a September or October release, the series simply vanished from the OTT radar for months together, with no word on its release from any quarters.

To have sprung pretty actress Karisma Kapoor into the digital domain, it is only now that Mentalhood has surfaced from oblivion to gather buzz again. The official release date for Mentalhood is now given as 11th March 2020, when it will stream simultaneously on ZEE5 and ALTBalaji.

The state of Siege stars Arjan Bajwa, Arjun Bijlani, Vivek Dahiya, Sid Makkar, Mukul Dev and Tara Alisha Berry in vital roles, while Mentalhood stars Karisma Kapoor, Shruti Seth, Shilpa Shukla, Sandhya Mridul, Tillotama Shome, Dino Morea and Sanjay Suri as the primary cast.
