Iconic Hollywood actress Uma Thurman is all set to join the cast for the sequel of Disney+ “Stargirl”. It will be a year since the first movie released and it has been a delight for viewers everywhere to watch this amazing show. The movie was adapted from the novel of the same name by author Jerry Spinelli and was directed by Julia Hart. The movie was also the debut for Grace VanderWaal who is more popularly known for her success as the winner of America’s Got Talent for the year 2016.
“Stargirl”, which was the first movie, followed the journey of a young boy Leo who has a very mundane life. Times get interesting when he finds himself getting pulled towards this young girl who joined his school and goes by the name “Stargirl”. Things change all around as Stargirl starts to let the magic of her voice flow in their school. Going through his own tragic times, Leo finds solace with Stargirl’s mere existence.
The second part will see Grace VanderWaal’s character out of the small town and into the bigger world of music. Uma Thurman will be playing a rather crucial role as she will be essaying the role of a musician that has been Stargirl’s role model and idol since a long time. The story will see both of them explore more music and also see how Stargirl settles into the world of music.
Stargirl as soon as it released back in March 2020, it received praise from everywhere. Especially because Disney has been able to bring such a new coming up age romantic drama that was well executed. VanderWaal will also write and perform original music for the sequel along with composer-musician Michael Penn.
The movie has no release date as of now, but will arrive on the streaming platform just like its first part.
