Uncharted: Check Out Early Reviews of Tom Holland Starrer

The live-action adaptation of one of the best selling video games, Uncharted, has been released already in many countries. We have Tom Holland as the protagonist, playing Nathan Drake. He is a descendant of a legendary English explorer, Sir Francis Drake. On the other hand, we have Mark Wahlberg playing Victor Sullivan in the upcoming movie. Additionally, the film’s world premiere took place on February 7 in Barcelona, Spain. It means that we can now have a closer look at the movie’s early reviews. Let’s check them out!

The majority of Uncharted’s early reactions are mixed. Some say that the film is a fun and thrilling ride. Others are have criticised it for being a bit over-the-top. Plus, its story has also received negative reviews. However, the performances of the cast were praised. Most of the moviegoers liked the duo of Holland and Wahlberg. Their chemistry is one of the best things about the film. But it’s the former who has done all the heavy lifting. This one is being hailed as a movie strictly made only for the fans of the original gaming series. Although, a fair portion of the game’s fanbase believes that the leading duo is not so good in the film.

Uncharted has not been included in the category of one of the worst video game adaptations by the viewers. But it doesn’t mean that it is flawless. The movie heavily suffers from horrible editing and direction. Furthermore, some of the scenes have terrible CGI.

Antonio Banderas (Santiago Moncada) as the bad guy didn’t impress a lot of viewers. The rest of the cast may disappoint us.

Overall, we can say that the mixed critical reception of Uncharted may hurt its box office figures. It has a huge budget of $120 million. Therefore, it needs to collect high figures to be hailed as a success. Also, we have the ongoing pandemic to make things worse. This chaotic scenario has already reduced the seating capacity in many theatres around the world. With all things considered, Tom Holland’s Uncharted may have a difficult time in future, especially after its US premiere on February 18.
