Unforgettable Characters from Bollywood & OTT with Short Screen Time (Part-II)

By Binged Bureau - Jun 18, 2021 @ 05:06 pm

In our previous article (link attached below this para), we had recollected five unforgettable characters/roles, whose smaller screen time did not deter these actors from leaving a lasting impression on the audience.

In the follow-up to the above-mentioned article, we have listed the next five memorable characters (in no specific order), who really made an impact on the audience despite their comparatively shorter screen presence.

Alongside, we have also written a brief description of the roles essayed by these actors in their respective movies and shows. All these characters are from the Indian film and OTT industry performed by both seasoned performers and relatively unknown actors.

Dancing Chacha (Played by Hemant Kapadia in Mirzapur Season 1)

Dancing ChachaWho can forget the wedding massacre scene in Mirzapur Season 1 finale? Amidst the bloody chaos, our adorable Dancing Chacha was seen lost in his own world until he was interrupted by Divyendu Sharma’s character, who gave him an interesting nickname.

The character became an instant hit and soon went viral on the internet. His immense popularity made Amazon Prime Video release a hilarious video in which the character is seen dancing on sad songs. Consequently, his role was extended in the show’s second season. Just a few minutes of screen time and what an impact!

Tej Sareen (Played by Chandrachur Singh in Aarya)

Tej SareenChandrachur Singh had impressed us in the 1990s with his acting skills in films like ‘Maachis’, ‘Tere Mere Sapne’, and ‘Josh’. Web series ‘Aarya’ was his comeback performance of sorts. His character was that of the protagonist’s husband and is seen primarily in the first episode of the nine episodic series. He showcased a nuanced act and made the most out of the comparatively shorter screen time that he had.

CBI Officer Madhavan (Played by Rajat Kapoor in Scam 1992)

CBI Officer MadhavanRajat Kapoor’s acting abilities are known to all. In ‘Scam 1992’, he once again delivered a compelling performance as an upright and fearless CBI officer. The chilling interrogation scenes were instilled with the required intensity owing to Rajat Kapoor’s convincing act. Some fans had even demanded a spin-off show based on this character. We hope that he’ll be cast again in, maybe, Hansal Mehta’s upcoming show Scam 2003, in some capacity.

Millimetre & Joy Lobo (Played by Rahul Kumar & Ali Fazal in 3 Idiots)

MillimetreThis one is a tie between the characters Millimetre and Joy Lobo in the same film – Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘3 Idiots’. Millimetre’s character was that of a lovable errand boy for engineering college students. Rancho motivates him to study, and from Millimetre, he eventually becomes Centimetre (played by Dushyant Wagh).

Joy-LoboLobo’s character featured in just one song (Give Me Some Sunshine) besides just a few more scenes. The character was effectively essayed by Ali Fazal, who later on worked in the celebrated web series ‘Mirzapur’ and will next be seen in the Netflix series ‘Ray’ inspired by Satyajit Ray’s timeless classics.

Perpendicular (Played by Aditya Kumar in Gangs of Wasseypur – Part 2)

PerpendicularAditya Kumar played the unforgettable character ‘Perpendicular’ as Sardar Khan’s (Manoj Bajpayee) reel-life youngest son in ‘Gangs of Wasseypur – Part 2‘. The psychotic character got the nickname in the movie because of the brutal way he kills people (using a razor blade that he keeps in his mouth).

In addition to the above-stated characters, some other honorable mentions in this category include Vijay Raaz’s character in ‘Delhi Belly’, Amol Gupte’s character in ‘Kaminey’, Rajat Kapoor’s character in ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ and Girish Kulkarni’s role in ‘Ugly’, amongst others.

However, the selection and appeal of such characters are subjective and a matter of choice. Moreover, there are so many of them. So, in case you think that a particular character from Bollywood or OTT industry deserves a spot in this list, then please drop your suggestions in the comments box below. You can name even more than one character.
