Unlike the past few weeks, the choices this week is a bit limited. But, don’t worry, as they say, it’s not the quantity, it is the quality that matters. Well, we have different genres to pick from for the weekend binge-watching.
Amazon Prime Video:
The most talked-about show of the week is here. Paatal Lok is out on Amazon Prime Video. It is garnering terrific buzz among the audience, and the early reviews too are very encouraging. The police procedural thriller is garnished with superb performances and chilling moments.
If dark and gritty content is not your cup of tea, do give Choricha Mamla, a try. It is a madcap fun entertainer that has some hilarious blocks packed in a short narrative.
Netflix:
Things were a bit slow at Netflix this week. But, they still offer versatile content. The long in the waiting Malang is finally here. This Mohit Suri thriller offers a heady cocktail of love, sex, booze, drugs and murder. The beautiful music is always a delightful addition.
Then there is the hugely awaited series White Lines. It comes from the creator of Money Heist and the maker of The Crown. It belongs to a similar space as Malang, as in it is also a murder mystery set in the drug mafia world, but there is a twist.
Disney Plus Hotstar:
If you are in the mood to watch a drama with powerful emotions and acting, I Know This Much Is True offers it plentiful. The terrific cast is Mark Ruffalo, who comes up with a stellar and memorable act.
Aha Video App:
For those who are craving for a simple, heartfelt romantic comedy, Aha Video App’s Mental Madhilo is the perfect offering. The Sree Vishnu starrer marks the directorial debut of Vivek Athreya; a fresh voice is a long time in Telugu cinema rom-com space.
Voot Select:
And finally, there is Illegal, a courtroom drama featuring Neha Sharma and Piyush Mishra. The setup and setting itself makes it far from a routine affair. Watch this if you love legal shows.
As one can see, there is nothing repetitive in offering at all. Each one belongs to a different genre. Pick one that floats your boat and make the best of the weekend.
