Netflix has announced an upcoming French-language thriller led by acclaimed actor Vincent Cassel, portraying a disillusioned DJ named Scorpex, who grapples with his fading career. Directed by Bertrand Lagros de Langeron, professionally known as So Me, this marks his debut feature film. Cassel’s character, Scorpex, finds himself recruited by a DGSI agent (played by Laura Felpin) to confront his rising EDM rival, Vestax, portrayed by French YouTuber Mister V, with music producer Kavinsky also joining the ensemble cast.
Set against the backdrop of the electronic music scene, the untitled thriller promises a gripping narrative as Scorpex navigates the challenges of reclaiming his former glory while facing off against Vestax. The film draws inspiration from So Me’s 2021 short work, which introduced Cassel’s character and reflects the director’s background as the art director at Ed Banger Records, a renowned French electronic music label.
Joining Cassel and Mister V are a host of talented actors including Alexis Manenti, Déborah Lukumuena, Nina Zem, Nicolas Maury, Philippe Katerine, and others. With its blend of suspense and music industry drama, the film offers audiences an immersive experience into the world of DJs and electronic music, promising an intriguing exploration of rivalry, redemption, and the pursuit of success in the face of adversity.
