Unstoppable And More: Tabu Delivers Hit After Hit

Mononymously known Indian actor Tabu’s career has witnessed ups and downs like most others. Having delivered superhits, her slate of movies has also been sprinkled with features that weren’t as well-received and critically acclaimed as the others.

Primarily rising to fame with Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Chandni Bar’, Tabu was seen in titles like ‘Andhadhun’ and ‘De De Pyar De’ before COVID-19 hit and pressed pause on major film productions across the globe. However, with the pandemic well behind us, she is officially the only Indian actor besides Shahrukh Khan to have delivered three hits post the lockdown.

These hits include Anees Bazmee’s rendition of the 2007 Priyadarshan classic – ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’; a gripping follow-up to Nishikant Kamat’s 2015 family thriller – ‘Drishyam 2’ and now, Rajesh A Krishnan’s comedic drama ‘Crew’.

Her latest hit ‘Crew’ follows three hard-working women as their destinies lead to some inevitably unwarranted situations and their subsequent descent straight into a web of lies. Ever since hitting theatres on March 29, the film has garnered widespread acclaim and positive responses from the audience. Even more so, it is the first Bollywood movie in three months – since Dunki in December – to debut among the Top 10 at the global box office.

With such promising performances spanned over such a short time, her fans are in for a treat as Tabu’s career seems to be at an all-time high!
